Update: I first bought this product in June 2016 (after my Mum bought me a couple of bottles to try) and it cost £9.18, a perfectly reasonable price. In October 2016 I bought some more £12.49, ok a bit more pricey but I can probably cope with that. March 2017 it was £12.84. I have logged on today (May 2017) to buy more as I have nearly run out and it is now £20.19!!! With a claim that is should be £28.50. That is an increase of 119.9% in 9 months!!! That's absurd and has rendered it too expensive for me. I am now going to suffer; get daily, severe pain because a good product has increased from 15p a tablet to 34p per tablet - that's £122.84 per year on one tablet. I don't know whether this is due to Amazon or Solgar or a global shortage of good bacteria, I've not been able to find a single article to justify the price hike, but I'm really upset - I've lived with chronic, severe gut pain for years (I was known as hot water bottle girl at work!) then I finally find a product that helps only to now have it rendered unaffordable a mere 9 months later. Really really upset. I will buy one more jar because I can't face the pain again with such little warning but then I will have no choice but to do so. Easy to swallow and some bacteria must make it's way to my gut because I've noticed a marked improvement in my IBS since I started taking it a little over a year ago. I used to have daily pain and was known as the girl with the hot water bottle at work (the only thing that took the edge off the pain). I now get hardly any pain and if I do get a funny episode I don't get the dreadful, incapacitating pain that would render me useless for at least 12 hours any more. I think there may also be an improvement in my energy levels too, at least I certainly notice a dip if I miss a couple of days. I started on two a day initially to create a good culture in my gut and now I take one a day as maintenance.

I have a degree of suspicion about supplements in general but I was talked into trying these by my wife. I contracted heliobacter pylori 12 years ago and was also diagnosed with duodenal ulcers. I was successfully treated but my stomach has been fragile ever since with regular bouts of bloating and acid indigestion. I have been taking one of these daily for several weeks now and they have undoubtedly made a difference. Bloatedness has disappeared along with the acid indegestion and overall my stomach feels completely settled for the first time in years. My advice would be to try these pills but be patient. It took approximately a week to ten days for me to start feeling like they were making a difference so don't expect a wonder cure after 1 day. Would highly recommend.

I’m of a certain age and work hard to look after my health. I do find food supplements difficult to objectively review in terms of their efficacy. However, I felt my constitution was becoming sluggish, and I had bouts of IBS. I did quite a bit of research that highlighted that we are more than ever exposed to chemical residues in foods, which affect the beneficial bacteria of the gut. Probiotics play a crucial role in immunity and over 80% of our immunity arises within the gut, and we have more bacteria in the human body than cells! These bacteria manufacture vital immune enhancing compounds in the body and also help to eliminate excess acid in the gut that has seeped through from the stomach, thus keeping inflammation at bay. They also help to provide some nutrients, including some B vitamins. I’m not making any medical claims for this product, but it’s for the reasons I’ve described that I take this product and I find one a day sufficient for my needs.

I have CFS and read that adding a probiotic would help me with my energy. I have been taking these for a while now and although I do not notice a big difference in my energy levels, there is still some difference. A little while back I stopped taking these for a few months and when I went back on them I had a die off reaction (where the bad bacteria die off and cause cold like symptoms), so at least you know they are working! I have tried other brands but find these are the best for me. I am now trying home made yoghurt to to get even more probiotics in me.

I have suffered from IBS for about 40 years. I have tried many different probiotics over 7 or 8 years. Some were no good, some made me worse. I didn’t like supermarket probotic drinks because of the high sugar content and also to have one drink a day soon becomes expensive. About two or three years ago I tried Solgar and this did seem to reduce the number of flare ups, and also generally seemed to make my stomach more settled. Prices can vary considerably, so I tend to shop around, although Amazon is usually competitive. If you have gut problems, these are worth a try.

It shows an image of a 120 capsules so it is disappointing as it makes confusing for us consumer as we believe we are buying a bigger package . Also I purchased a few months ago and it was same price however without the sale ( sale didn’t change anything) so my feeling is that as a consumer I am also a clown

Este probiótico me ha hecho renacer de nuevo. Tengo intolerancia a los lácteos y a la fructosa por lo que tenía la flora intestinal muy mal. Yo solo tomo una cápsula en ayunas por la mañana porque dos cápsulas me producían restreñimiento cada persona es diferente por lo que debes ir probando la dosis que se adapte a ti.

J'ai pris une gélule chaque soir 20 min avant le dîner, ce qui représentait la moitié de qui est indiqué sur l'étiquette, l'utilisation conseillée est d'une gélule 1 ou 2x/jour, et bien même avec une prise unique, cela me suffisait. Mes problèmes d'intestins se sont considérablement améliorés, je n'ai plus eu de flatulences après les repas, tout était revenu à la normale après plusieurs traitements à base d'antibiotiques qui avaient eu pour conséquences de gravement perturber l'équilibre de ma flore intestinale. Je digère aussi maintenant bien mieux les laitages. Ces gélules sont sans gluten, blé, produits laitiers, soja, levures, sucre, arômes artificiels, sucres ajoutés, conservateurs et colorants, aucun allergène parmi les plus courants n'est inclus dans la liste des ingrédients, ce qui est un point déterminant dans la sélection d'un complément alimentaire à base de probiotiques, il faut bien évidemment qu'il soit efficace, mais il faut tout autant être assuré de sa parfaite tolérance, surtout lorsque l'on doit faire face à une prolifération de bactéries pathogènes ou de candidose car elles accroissent les risques d'allergie, Les gélules ont une enveloppe constituée de matière d'origine végétale et sont gastro-résistantes. Mon achat a été fait en janvier 2017 et la date limite de consommation optimale était juin 2018. La réfrigération est recommandée dès la réception pour permettre une conservation de ses propriétés la plus longue possible. A noter aussi la grande taille de ces gélules.

I don't take probiotics all the time - I felt like I don't need to take them constantly, and a doctor I see (who practices functional medicine) told me that I don't need to take probiotics all the time. It's important to eat well - plenty of vegetables and other forms of fiber and not much junk food - to keep your digestive system healthy. In other words, probiotics can do only so much if a person isn't eating well. But I buy a couple of different bottles (chosen from brands that have a good reputation) about once a year or so. Also, I have a colonoscopy every five years because of my family history, and I always take a bottle of this brand and another brand (that has some difference bacteria) after each colonoscopy. I had just finished taking a bottle of this and another brand after my last colonoscopy, when I caught a severe case of gastroenteritis. Either it came too soon after the colonoscopy, or it was just a severe strain, but several weeks after being sick, I just couldn't get back to normal. So I bought another bottle of this and a bottle of Pure Encapsulations probiotics. Now, having finished both, I'm doing well again.
