The story of Platinum begins in 1919 when its' founder Shunichi Nakata set up shop in Okayama, Japan selling fountain pens. Review: Brilliant for left handed fountain pen users! - I read quite a few reviews before buying this ink and am glad I did based on what I read about others. I love fountain pens and spent much of my adult life avoiding them because I had it drummed into me at school (Primary in the UK) that as a left hander, my writing was terrible and always smudged. It took me way too long to realise it was the fault of the ink and choice of pen back then, not the writer. So, armed with my new Lamy Safari, I loaded up the Lamy converter (alternative to ink cartridges) Platinum ink and tried writing. Wow! For the first time in my life, I can write with a fountain pen, dragging my hand over the page as I go, and not see a single smudge. Believe me, I have tried. The ink dries so quickly, that it doesn't smudge at all. It's a revelation to me as a huge fan of the idea of writing with a fountain pen and never having been able to do so successfully my whole life. I'm extremely happy with the Platinum ink and the little gadget in the bottle to make it easier to use a plunger style converter makes all the difference. The ink dries almost instantly and is a deep black colour on the page. It's beautiful to write with.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: If this is waterproof, how do I clean out my fountain pen?  Won't it dry in the nib feed etc?  Thanks in advance.**
A: Hi, I have not had a problem with this but do use my pen regularly and wash it out from time to time when refilling.It is used for sketching along with watercolour wash. If I was laying the pen up for any length of time I would wash out the pen and reservoir to be on the safe side. I also use this ink with a dip pen and reed/wood pens.

**Q: Pls can I confirm this will work in any fountain pen with a converter obviously?**
A: Platinum Carbon Ink can be used in all fountain pens.

**Q: Do i need to buy something in order to fill my fountain pen cartridge with this ink?**
A: I don't quite understand the question.  I have both the ink and the prn.  I love them both.

**Q: so based on some of your responses this is like india ink? not sepia?**
A: This is a very black ink and very waterproof
