One issue is that the only instructions that arrives with the difficult to open packaging is in the form of pictographs which I personally found totally confusing. Once you unlock the device the first time there are instructions on the device but of course if you can't get it open, you can't read the instructions. I haven't yet had a problem with it being corrupted because of early ejection, but it's possible. I bought this for use at UPS-store and Fedex for scanning tax documents, after having left an unencrypted one at Fedex once. Someone took it. Now my SSN is out there. My only quibble with this is that the buttons are small and hard to unlock it quickly.
