I picked up this belt to alleviate the excessive shoulder joint traction and postural issues that come with pulling the sled backward... the belt fastens tight so athletes (and I) and walk or jog backward, feeling only their legs working without wearing their arms out. When transitioning to pushing, they had to get used to gathering up the slack, and while a little wonky, it is inevitable and still works fine.
