Review: Six Years of Solid Use - This is remarkably light, capable and durable mouse. I purchased my Microsoft Arc Mouse (ELG-00001) six years ago. I've used it nearly every day since, bouncing it around in my laptop bag, and working on countless surfaces from cafe tables to kitchens, etc. It has performed marvelously. On the negative side, it's about twice as expensive as the Dell MS700. When this mouse crapped out in the last few months--I was no longer able to reliably select text, which seemed to be an issue with the buttons activating consistently--I replaced it with the cheaper Dell model ($47 vs. $90+ as I write). It seems virtually identical with the exception of a slightly less elegant way of collapsing the mouse for storage in your bag. We'll see, but the Dell model is working fine so far. We'll see if it lasts as long as this amazing little MS mouse.

I am an old-school, mouse dependent computer user; this gives me a good feel but in a small package. This is my third one; I would like it to last forever but given how I throw it around I think it's life is very respectable.

**Q: Can you right click and left click at the same time?**
A: No, there is not. Actually, whenever you press the click surface down (and note the entire touch surface is actually one big clickable button, not the design I'd have gone with, but whatever), it will always default to a left click if you are touching the left side of the touchpad, even if you are touching the right side with another finger (also, unlike a normal laptop touchpad, a 2 finger tap will not do a right-click). Note this also means you cannot do a right-click while resting your other fingers on the upper portion of the mouse like you could with a traditional mouse.

**Q: Will it work on a Macbook pro?**
A: I just received my Arc Mouse and it works perfectly with my new (2019) MacBook Pro 15” (running BootCamp for both Apple and Windows operating systems). The MacBook didn’t recognize the Arc Mouse automatically when running Apple OS, but I pressed and held the Bluetooth button on the mouse for 3 seconds and then it connected. Windows recognized the Arc Mouse automatically.

This is my third Microsoft Arc Mouse in about six years (one broke and I lost another), and I keep coming back to it because it’s just that good. I love that it folds flat, which makes it incredibly easy to throw into a bag for work or travel. It connected automatically via Bluetooth from day one with my laptop and has worked consistently without any issues. Battery life is excellent, and I rarely think about it. The only downside is that it uses AAA batteries — I wish there were a rechargeable option — but that hasn’t been enough to stop me from repurchasing. Overall, this is a sleek, dependable mouse that’s perfect if you travel or want something compact without sacrificing performance.
