Review: Caution when using - I bought this product after 20 year of avoiding 'strimmers', and my experience has in many ways both been vindicated but also has also overturned my misconceptions. Consequently this review does not come down strongly on either side. I had read the previous reviews which suggested that the cutting cord should be upgraded to a thicker grade and I duly followed this advice. I have been using the machine for about 1 month, during the growing season in order to give myself some experience of using the equipment. Despite upgrading the cord, it can only be regarded as a consumable item, and you will need replacement cords quickly, because the usage rate remains high. The reason is that this type of machine is difficult to accurately target, and you will hit immovable and hard objects causing the cord to break. The inaccuracy of judging the cutting point is caused by the varying length of the cord as it wears, and variation of the edges in a garden. This leads to the cord cutting into the lawn surface, leaving cut marks in the soil. The inaccuracy and the potential for marking of a lawn, leads me to conclude that for small gardens and lawns with cut edges, the best results are obtained from long handled edging shears. The draw backs mean, that the purpose of the 'strimmer' should be more closely defined, if you want to have a tool which is 'fit for purpose'. My conclusion is that this tool is ideal for cutting longer grass, especially if close to a masonry wall, or other hard vertical surface. Regard the trimmer as a replacement for the scythe, rather than replacement for shears. However, remember that the very high revolutionary speed of the cord effectively mulches the grass and vegetation, and will stain any light coloured adjacent surfaces. The spatter pattern of green mulch can appear several feet away. Finally, remember to clean the grass mulch from the machine at the end of each job, it hardens and sets when dry, and will block air vents if not quickly removed with a stiff brush at the end of each job.

As mentioned in previous replies the line should be easy to change on this model and you can choose to either re-wind the original spool or swap to a new spool depending on your preference.

A: Just replace it with 2.4mm(max) trimmer line.
In my case, I picked OREGON for it's cheap.

**Q: How thick is the spool cable**
A: The spool cable is 1.6mm thick and 6 metres in length.

**Q: Do you get the strimmer wire with it?**
A: It comes ready to use. To pull out the wire if it gets snapped or worn away is simple, press the button on the circle shaped thing and at the same time pull more wire out. It's great to use but wear safety goggles.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THE SLIMMER TRIMMER

Weighing around 2 Kg., this plastic and metal constructed strimmer was so easy to assemble, most of it having been done so already. The hollow tubular metal arm arrives folded into three section with the power cable running down the middle; think of an elasticated folding walking stick/cane, usually for the elderly. Holes in the tube allow spring loaded metal studs to click into place for assembly/disassembly (I recommend that the strimmer is left assembled.) The plastic strimmer guard beneath slides, then clicks into place. Opposite to the plastic rear guard, is an adjustable metal wire bar, which may be slideither nearer or further away from the strimmer. This pushes plants away from the strimming cord beneath, protecting flower beds, etc. The strimmer's cord cassette, simply drops into place beneath the red capped cover, that is in the base. To open, squeeze the opposite marked sides together to release. It clicks back into place. Thread the cord through the hole in the axle assembly and adjust to the length required. A two way switch arrangement built into the top handle, switches it on and the lower switches either side, keeps the power switched on during use. Depressing the main switch shuts off the power. The safety orange coloured flex/rubber plug, is 6 metres long. Use an RCD device when strimming, sensible footwear and sometimes protective eyewear for those hidden bits of debris. There is an adjustable lower front handle, angled to requirements, by depressing both sides of the handle's red buttons simultaneously; releasing them the handle clicks into a preset position. Readjust until the best comfortable position is found. I use this handle to hang the folded electric flex. Easy to store, clean and use. It's a classic well thought out, well design strimmer, competitively priced unit for these financially slimmer times; cut costs, not quality.
