desertcart.com: UGREEN USB-C M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure, 10Gbps | Tool-Free Adapter/Reader Supports M and B&M Keys and Size 2230/2242 /2260/2280 SSDs, compatible with Mac Mini : Electronics

Review: Inexpensive, Well-Built Enclosure for a Fast Offline Backup Drive - I picked up this UGREEN USB-C M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure to build a portable offline backup drive, pairing it with a 1TB NVMe SSD to store family photos and sensitive documents outside the cloud. For the low price, I was impressed with how solid this little enclosure feels. The housing has some heft to it and clearly helps with heat dissipation, since the drive stays cool even during long file transfers. Installation was genuinely tool-free as advertised. The NVMe stick slides in and locks into place with a simple latch mechanism, no screws or thermal pads to fuss with, and it supports the common 2230/2242/2260/2280 sizes so it should fit most drives people already have on hand. The USB-C to USB-C cable included is a nice touch, and the 10Gbps connection delivers real-world transfer speeds that make moving large folders of photos and scans quick and painless. My workflow is simple: I keep the drive connected only when I need to back something up, then disconnect the USB cable to take it fully offline. This enclosure makes that routine effortless and has held up well with repeated connect and disconnect cycles. For anyone wanting an affordable, reliable way to turn a spare NVMe drive into external storage, this is an easy recommendation.
Review: Looks great and feels well made. - Perfect for what I wanted. Very solid enclosure, works perfect for my nvme external with my iMac. Very happy with this!! The cable length is really decent. Super easy to use, connected easily, and doesn’t feel like it heats up at all.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent way to access needed files from an SSD
*by M***. on September 15, 2026*

This thing is absolutely awesome. I recently had my computer motherboard take a dump and had to replace the entire unit. The bummer is you lose all of your desktop's favorites and other items that you may not have had fully backed up or forgotten the backup before it went South. With this thing, you remove the SSD from the old computer. Put it into this housing. And plug it in and it's essentially a flash drive with your old stuff on it. All your user information, desktop, favorites, and anything else that may not have been backed up properly. Saved my butt because there was a couple of files and apps that I had just downloaded and saved temporarily on my desktop before the computer failed. Secondary benefit to this thing is once you're done getting all of your files off and saving them where you need to, this basically becomes a 500 gig spare drive.
