We like to go from song to song without a gap, so every time I swapped guitars I could see the frustration on band mates. We tried grouping songs - but the problem was "sameness". The Graphtech saddle pickups sound very much like an acoustic guitar with a piezo pickup (close enough for a band setting) and it's great not having to switch instruments. I custom built a tele for this use. I went with an Eqsuire bridge pick up only with the Graphtech saddles. This way I was able to simplify the pup choices. What is interesting, when the piezo saddles are in "dark-mode", and blended with the bridge pick-up, it has a very unique sound and I really don't miss the neck pup at all. I placed the electronics and battery in the neck pickup cutout and routed a channel from the bridge pickup cutout to the back of the bridge plate (1/4" hole was drilled in the plate between the center screws to pass the wires) so the wires are completely hidden. The guitar looks just like a regular Esquire with the exception of the switch for pickup selection. Get the Graphtech volume/dark-mode pot. It simplifies the wiring and dark-mode is a great option. I would use these saddles again for sure. Do know that when you are installing them the wire is fragile at the saddle attach point. I recommend doing a loose fitment at first and only one installation. Once installed the system is very stable and the wires are secure.
