Combined this with a Berkeley Cherrywood 6’6” rod and used a whopper plopped. My goodness gracious can this setup cast!!! Unbelievably far. Makes me feel like Superman just tossing that lure a country mile. Reel is very smooth. Left the default fishing line on it for now. May put braided line on it later. But it works for now so why fuss? I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. It’s pricey but I think well worth it.
