Effortless Smart Home Upgrade - Meross Smart Power Strip Rocks!
I'm seriously impressed with the Meross Smart Power Strip. It's made adding smart control to my devices an absolute breeze. Here's why I love it: Super Simple Setup: Honestly, it was ridiculously easy to connect to my Wi-Fi and get it working with Alexa. No complicated tech stuff, it just works! Rock-Solid Reliability: Since setting it up, I haven't had a single dropout or issue. It responds instantly to commands, whether it's through the app or voice control. Customization for the Win: I love that I can rename each outlet! No more remembering "outlet 3" is the lamp โ it makes control so much easier. Home Assistant Heaven: If you're into Home Assistant like me, this integrates beautifully. It was a snap to set up and offers total control. Should you buy it? If you want an easy, reliable way to make your existing appliances or lights smart, this is a no-brainer. It's well-made, simple to use, and expands your smart home possibilities without breaking the bank. I'm definitely considering getting another one! Note: I happily give this product 5 stars. While I haven't had it long enough to comment on extreme long-term durability, its performance so far has been flawless.

Meross makes quality products
Okay, I have quite a few Meross devices. They integrate with Matter/HomeKit/Alexa with a breeze, no fuss, no hastle. Their reaction times are fast. Sure, the power strips and the plugs make noise when they are triggered but all does, it's not just Meross. Until today I was using the software only to do firmware updates (they are not coming out often but on the other hand there's no need for them usually) but with the energy monitoring I can check on the power usage as well (this is only visible in the app, no Alexa nor Homekit). On the power strip, the USB ports (all 4 of them) are combined in terms of power on/off state. The power strip doesn't come with energy monitoring functionality. Neat tricks: #1 The new energy monitoring capable plugs allow me to turn the plug off when there's no power usage (you can configure the power level where if the usage goes below, the plug turns off), this with a bit of trick with a computer's BIOS (boot, press DEL to enter BIOS) allows me to turn the PC on when there's a power recovery after power failure, the PC can turn on. Basically this allows me to turn off the socket when the PC shuts down and can turn on with a voice command or a push of a button or by any automation like HomeKit events or scheduling. #2 I can automate my phone charging to prolong battery life. When a charger is attached you can schedule/use automations to charge the phone. Mine is set up to turn the charger socket on when the phone goes below 20% and turn off when it hits 100%, also there's an Alexa routine (Alexa, charge my phone) set up for this procedure. #3 Since HomeKit doesn't have global variables, I'm using some of the unused sockets for that purpose. For example I have a motion sensor in my bedroom which allows the lights to turn on but don't want to do after I went to bed. Have a "bedtime" Alexa routine which enabled a socket on the smart switch which is checked via HomeKit when the motion sensor triggers. If it's after bedtime, the lights come on only dimmed.

Good with some obvious flaws
Good, works and had plenty of plugs. The app is well lade out, has all the basic features one would expect, and other than 2 problems mentioned below works well. Setting up Google home worked quickly and easily. Now the downsides: The initial setup failed about 5 times before eventually working (the device was about a foot away from me and about 5 feet from the wifi access point so none of those are reasons why. There is no way to individually turn the plugs on and off other than the app or a voice assistant. Only a switch to turn them all off or on. Other smart power stripes I've used have a button for each plug. If it loses WiFi then it needs to be reset and reconfigured (with the very buggy process to do that.) The app sometimes fails to correctly read the on/off status of an indivual plug if it has been changed buy a different app or device or by schedules within the meroos app and this works fine but the app won't recognise the change. For example I have a the app scheduled to turn my electric heater for my work room off after 20 mins, and this works correctly, but the app will still show the plug is on even after closing the app, a refresh button that works would be nice.

Works as expected - integrated into Apple HomeKit and can control via Siri or HomeKit app
Reviewed Jan 2024: We've 3 of these.. A 4 gang version in the shed, and a couple of the 6 gang versions that are in the house. The shed one is connected to a motion detector and internal and external cameras, the idea being that if there are connection problems with those devices, I can reboot them from the power strip. To be fair, I've not yet had to do this, but I'm a little paranoid about stuff getting pinched. In the house, one is on my desk, so PC, monitors, powered USB hub and the other one is in the bedroom, powering AppleTV, TV, soundbar, etc. I bought both of these because they were on sale around black Friday and they replaced cheap power strips that did not have individual switches per gang (yet along the ability to control them remotely). As I'm typing this review, I'm asking myself if I really need these to be connected and remotely controlled.... Perhaps I will want to shut them down at the power source if I'm away for a long period of timne, maybe I'll be saving a tiny amount of standby power if I was to power them down from a day to day perspective, but so far, I've not been motivated to do this. Away from the use, what I can say... Setting them up and getting them connected was really easy.. Note I'm using Apple homekit, and for me, the QR scanning code rarely works during setup, this might be as a result of my antique iPhone. But setting them up in the Meross app was relatively straight forward. TIP: Keep the box so you know exactly what item you are setting up in the Meross app, as there are several model numbers to choose from.

Apple HomeKit compliant smart plug strip
Excellent so far. Not the first or last Meross smart plug item Iโve got for my home. Plugged in set up and running like a dream. 6 sockets and 4 USB which in fact would have been better to be able to use separately, but otherwise really good. Well made clean white plastic casing and decent instructions if youโre not familiar with what to do. My Apple HomeKit runs a dream and if you know how it all works with Apple HomePods this is the icing on the cake. So, in this trailer socket setup I have my TV, Soundbar, Amplifier, Blu-Ray Player, Ring Camera Battery Charger, and a Set of LED cabinet lights. All can be switched on independently or all together depending on how you set up your HOME. If youโre an Apple iPhone, iWatch, iPad or Mac air nut, this is the starter kit you should get. Rugged and well made and will save you hunting out the plug sockets at night. Works with youโre iPhone ๐ฑ iPad Apple Watch and HomePod minis from your sofa, the kitchen your voice and even 4000 miles away on holiday. Get one Canโt review with Alexa, as donโt have it.

Excellent as long as it meets your specific needs and device plugs
This is another well made and reliable Meross product that I am very happy with but it wonโt suit everyone! I would have preferred a single row of 6 sockets than this configuration but Meross donโt make one like that. Consequently, I had to make up a mounting board to accept the 4 mounting points on the rear of this extension then bolt this under my desk where I wanted it. My criteria is to have a single mains lead connected to the wall socket so that my desk can be moved for maintenance and cleaning (without pulling anything off my desk or having to unplug six items). The supplied (fixed) lead is long enough for this. Socket spacing is just enough for my plugs and adapters but they are very close. Also, if you have an adapter that faces the opposite way to the one shown in my first image itโs going to block one of the outlets. I had no problem adding this to HomeKit, Alexa and the Meross app. My WiFi router is on the other side of a solid wall and this extension is under my desk so I am pleased with the 78% signal strength as shown in the Meross app image. Everything works as it should and I would therefore rate it as 5 stars but YMMV.

Randomly turns off then on again several times a day - non-existent customer service
When these sockets work, they're great. They integrate well into HomeKit and Siri But several times a day, the two 6-way units turn off then straight back on again. This is a real pain, because some of the items I plug in take a while to start up when power is turned on, so the sockets are useless for my TV, smart speaker etc. Additionally, once a month or so the sockets stop responding to Siri or Home app commands. To get them working again, they have to be turned off and on again at the wall plug. What's the use of a smart plug that needs to be manually turned off and on again to get it working? And what's the use of a smart plug that randomly turns itself off and on again? I don't think it's a miraculous coincidence that both of mine do this. I think there's a design flaw - the only way to stop them randomly turning off and on is to completely block network access, which makes them lose all smart functionality. Somehow, the sockets are contacting a server somewhere that's telling them to reset. I've tried these sockets at friends' homes and they suffer the same problems, so it's not an issue with my own network. I have tried getting support with this issue but I've not had any proper response. These aren't cheap commodities - I expect decent service! I won't buy any more of these until I start to see people reporting that these problems have gone away And even though lots of people recommend them, I honestly can't. When they go wrong, they become pointless. It's pure luck that people aren't experiencing the random resets (or they're not noticing them due to the type of plugs they're connecting) Meross should treat its customers better. I don't have any hope of that though

Good but design flaw
Works great with HomeKit, which was the primary reason for purchase. Was easy to setup onto the WiFi, needs a 2.4ghz connection for quick setup. Responsive to commands. However, hit a design flaw, the mains plugs, being adapted for U.K. market, are far too close together, suspect other plugs are fine, but unless you has the absolute bog standard plug, you will have plug crashing into each other, even standard plugs are too close together, making it very difficult to remove, as the plugs are tight. If you have a plug with a top entry cable, then youโve had it, blocks the plug opposite. I think I need to find another smart plug solution sadly, as Meross has been good for me in other products.

Reliable product
Very easy to set up. Reliable connection. Only thing is no individual button to control each plug. But Siri can be used to operate though. Overall satisfy!
