## Description

With a fully new design featuring a triple bridge and unbeatable performance, the ZEISS VICTORY SF is taking binoculars to new heights in optical excellence and ergonomics. ZEISS and pioneering innovations belong together just as the ZEISS VICTORY SF and technologies such as the Ultra-FL concept, ErgoBalance concept, SMART FOCUS concept and Field Flattener technology. The 10x42 provides maximum detail recognition and is perfectly suited for eventful observations at long distances. The field of view of 120 m/1,000 m at 10x magnification is a dream come true for many people. The 10x magnification delivers unexpected precision and crystal-clear details. The ErgoBalance concept enables steady handling despite the high magnification. The binoculars feature the ZEISS LotuTec coating. The effective protective coating for the lens surfaces noticeably reduces contamination of the lenses through a special smooth surface and the strong beading effect connected with it. The LotuTec coating is also durable and abrasion resistant. Review: These Are The Best Out There! - I had a pair of Leitz Trinovid 8x40BA that I purchased in December of 1988. There were great up until April of 2019. They sadly had a failure in the diopter adjustment system. Tried to get them repaired but the warranty expired in December of 2018 and parts were all long gone. Could have been bitter about it but I got such good service out of them for over 30 years. I can't complain. So I researched everything I could find about high end binoculars. Came down to 3 choices. All about the same price. I chose the Zeiss Victory SF 10x42. They are very, very good. Great feel in the hand. The only possible concern is they are a little longer than I expected from the pictures. They are a little lighter than their competitors however. Very fast and very accurate focusing system. I use then to look through heavy brush. If you focus precisely at something on the otherside of bush you can basically see though it. Very helpful. I like that the diopter adjustment locks once set. The eyecup adjustment is very nice with exact detents that stay put. Wide field of view. Great carrying strap and very handsome case. While waiting for repair on the Leitz I bought a pair of $200 Vortex 8X42. They are not close to the the Zeiss in image quality but are very good for the money. Can't complain if you get 60-75% of the performance for only $200. They are lighter and smaller. Carry them if not carrying the Zeiss. Either pair will save a lot of walking if you want to inspect something without having to walk over there. That extra bit of performance whether it is stereo equipment, cars, boats or watches is gonna cost you plenty everytime.
Review: Absolutely outstanding - They might actually be better than my Kowa scope. Solid, well balanced and exceptionally clear.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What does 42 mean?**
A: 42 is the size of the objective lens. A description of 10x42 means the binoculars are 10 power with a 42 mm objective lens. I bought a pair of the Zeiss Victory SF. My 30 year old pair of Leitz 8x40 dropped a gear. Man alive have there been some. Improvements in binocular technology. They are very bright. A little longer than I anticipated. Not significantly heavy just longer. I later got a pair of cheap Vortex to bang around with. If I see something it saves walking over there. The Zeiss put you right there. They are so much better than the Vortex or any binoculars I have ever encountered. I spent a significant amount of time checking out this purchase. There is really the big 3 of 10x42 binoculars. These were the best.

**Q: where are these binoculars made?**
A: Germany

**Q: Which way does the focus knob work? Does clockwise focus farther or closer?**
A: Clockwise focuses farther.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Not what I would expect.
*by A***R on December 3, 2023*

There is what looks like a scratch on the inside of the right objective lens. There is a small black dot at the top of the left lens system. Otherwise, the binoculars were excellently.
