The keyboard is plugged into a USB 3.0 Hub, RSHTECH 7 Port Powered USB Hub Expander. The keyboard has a nice feel when typing, is full sized plus looks good. I also am using a Macally wired mouse plugged into the above mentioned hub. I'm not a fan of wireless keyboards or mice for my desktop computer. Very nice key action with good key travel and a good feel. Layout is excellent, much better than the keyboard it is replacing. (The old one went haywire.) Backlighting was very annoying, but easy to turn off. I am sick of wireless keyboards that keep losing connection intermittently. This keyboard is wired, so that's not an issue. Be aware that it has a USB A cable, so if your computer has any other kind of USB connectors you'll need an adapter. Worked right out of the box. (As soon as I figured out how to turn off the backlighting: F5 key.) Edited to add: As the room got dark, and it started to get hard to read the keys, I turned on the backlighting and it's great. In a bright room, it's best with the backlighting off. In a dark room, it's best with it on.
