I didn't want to buy a plastic doctor's kit for various reasons, so I researched several kits with wooden instruments and this is the kit I ultimately chose. The kit comes in a red canvas fabric bag with a few pockets and velcro fasteners, and the smooth wooden instruments are a great size and a pleasure to hold. I like that the thermometer is shaped like our real thermometer since we're trying to help our daughter become more comfortable with getting her temperature taken. The blood pressure monitor squeaks like a dog toy, which is pretty adorable. I added an empty white pill bottle and home-made felt bandages (which I store in the pockets) to complete the kit. This doctor's kit is an investment. It doesn't come with a million plastic pieces that will get lost and broken and thrown out. It comes with a few beautiful, high quality pieces that will grow with your child and eventually be passed on to another child. I also chose this kit because it uses water-based child safe dyes and glues, recycled products and earth friendly inks, and is responsibly made.
