The food that i have stored includes cererals, floor, and oatmeal. I have not faced any taste difference storing food in these containers. However, i washed these containers pretty well before using it. **Q: I just recieved these storage containers and while closing one I broke the tab off can I get a new lid minuse the gaskets** A: I actually had a broken tab on one of mine when I opened up my package. I didn't want to mess with the hassle, so I let it be. The tabs was one of the shorter ones on the end and not the longer ones on the side. It seems to still seal A-OK. I would contact Amazon or the seller, if you want a new lid. Good luck. **Q: Is it easy to hold onto and pour? My hands are small.** A: They are very easy to hold onto.
