I'm so glad I did, because it cooks my egg much better than my old one ever did. First of all, it's not really a "poached" egg because you don't have to add water to it so the texture is different. I consider it a plus because you don't have to drain off any water before you eat it. I use this because I sometimes want a quick egg (1 minute, 15 seconds on 50% power in my 1000W microwave oven) that has a completely cooked white with a slightly runny yolk. I only eat one egg at a time, so I don't know what the time would be for two.Tips on using this egg poacher: I always spray the cup with cooking spray and have never had a problem with egg sticking to the bottom. Also, I always puncture the yolk with a toothpick a few times in order to prevent explosions in my oven. It also seems to help the egg cook more evenly.I have read a few complaints that this poacher is too flimsy and it flops around when you try to carry it. Using both hands, carry it with your thumbs on top to keep the lid in place and use your fingers spread evenly underneath the side along the length of the poacher and you won't have a problem at all. It's really just common sense and unless you're literally all thumbs, you shouldn't have a problem moving this thing around without spilling your eggs.It's quick, easy to clean and seems to be very durable. This things works, but prepared to do a little experimentation. So far I only tried cooking one egg at a time even though this can do two. I only need one because I tend to either put it in a perfect Bacon bowl or just make a breakfast sandwich. Also, I'm not having the spilling or carrying problem others are. I just carry it with the lid on and my hands underneath. It only took 2 eggs before I got the third one perfect for me.-------My settings for One egg, 1300 watt Microwave---------Spray the inside of the of the base with nonstick cooking spray. On my 1300 watt Microwave oven (Which is basically a pain because it overcooks everything and lies about its power levels), for a SINGLE egg, I set it to 40% power level and 1 minute 12 seconds. Comes out perfect. Raw running yolk and fully cooked whites. You might do 1 minute 10 seconds if you want a tiny bit of run in the whites as well. Has been working every time for the last couple of weeks.I'll update this review if I figure out the perfect settings for two eggs. Remember, microwaves vary, so my main point is that be prepared to move your power levels down and some microwaves need far less time then the instructions let on. Of course I'm only doing one egg at a time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly good but has one flaw *by on Reviewed in the United States March 1, 2016* It's been a lot of fun to read all of the different reviews; lots of adventure and good advice!Having tried a couple of microwave poachers with less-than-satisfactory results, I had my doubts. However, thanks to all the guidance from reviewers, this one has worked very well, except for one flaw. But first, here are my results (adventures):1. First I tried manufacturer's instructions of 2 minutes at 50% power. Wasn't worried about explosions since I have an 800-watt microwave and everyone else seems to have more powerful ones. At this setting and time, the eggs were not fully cooked.2. Second, I tried 50% power at two and a half minutes. This was a little too much--I ended up with hard yolks (I like them just a little bit runny).3. Third try at 50% power and 2:20 minutes came out pretty good for one egg--however, the white of the other egg was only partially cooked (just a small area that I spooned out). I should mention that my microwave has a rotating plate, so that's not the problem.NOTE: On the first few tries I followed some reviewers' instructions and punctured the egg yolks with a toothpick. Fine. The fourth time I forgot, and actually the eggs came out better. No explosions. I expect this is because I have a less powerful microwave. Also, I tried using a plate so the poacher wouldn't droop, but found that it caused the eggs to cook more unevenly. So now I'm just very careful about lifting the poacher into the microwave; I lift it by the ends.PROS: Works well once you dial in the power and time.Outrageously easy to clean. I wipe the cups with olive oil first. The eggs slide right out with a spoon, and a little rubbing with my fingers and soap and water, and the poacher is clean.No explosions, whether you poke the yolks or not.CON: The poacher cooks unevenly. One egg is always a little more "done" than the other. Not using a plate helps a little, but there is still a difference.Would have given this five stars except for the CON above.
