Over the last 6 years, every time I’ve left the timers out they’ve been broken by spring. The one time I remembered to bring one inside it was fine though. The tubing and drippers are just fine throughout the winter, much better than other tubing I’ve used which bursts. Most of my original tubing is still kicking after 6 winters. **Q: Is it safe to leave the outdoor faucet on all the time when connected to this system?** A: As long as your faucet is not dripping and temperatures are well above freezing, there shouldn't be an issue. Screw things together tightly. I love the system for my hanging baskets, and my faucet is on all the time with a twice daily watering schedule when it is hot out. **Q: Hello, just wondering does this include a black flow preventer?** A: Backflow manifolds/preventers are only necessary if you are tapping into the main supply line with a high pressure or hard pipe irrigation subteraining install. All you need for dripline and micro irrigation systems is a pressure regulator of no higher than 25PSI that will install after your timer if you use one. Or after a gate valve if you want manual control of the irrigation flow. **Q: What is the short black tube for?** A: The short black tube is for clamping the small black tube off.
