Digitally remastered two CD edition of this album from the legendary German Rock band. Featuring Moran Neumuller (vocals, sax, flute), Remigus Dreschler (guitar), Hennes Hering (keyboards), Stephan Wisheu (bass) and Klaus Spori (drums), this legendary Munich based band were contemporaries of acts such as Amon Duul II and recorded three classic and highly collectable albums for the Kuckuck label. This was the band's final album and saw Out of Focus look towards acts such as Soft Machine for inspiration for their most Jazz influenced work. The album saw the band augmented by a brass section and was dominated by the lengthy 'Huchen 55'. Esoteric. 2010.

Ich vermute nach meiner gewonnenen Erkenntnis, dass der erste Buchstabe ein "F___" ist, weiß ich aber nicht mit Sicherheit.Der Bandname war von einem Song von den legendären "Blue Cheer" abgekupfert, und nach zwei Alben auf dem Kuckuck-Label von Eckart Rahn hatte man sich bis zu diesem Album fortentwickelt.Das Label, das später eine Heimat für esoterische New-Age Musik war und auch Aufnahmen von Terry Riley veröffentlichte, war zu Beginn noch dem deutschen Heavy-Rock zugetan.Auch Out Of Focus sind ein Beispiel dafür. Drei Alben gab es bis zu diesem. Der Vier Buchstaben Montag ist auch das letzte Werk der Gruppe, das ich kenne.Schönes Album, denn Brass-, Hard- und Bluesrock vereinen sich hörbar gut, und auf der zweiten CD kommen meditative Flöten zusammen mit "deutschem Canterbury" wie Brainstorm zur Geltung. Da bleibt man allerdings verhalten ruhig und driftet stellenweise auch mal in ganz stille und leise Passagen ab, ohne anspruchslos oder allzu langatmig zu sein.Der Gesang ist nicht immer überzeugend, aber die Lieder sind trotz allem auch heute noch hörbar.Von ihren drei Platten, würde ich dieses als Abschlussstück bezeichnen und als Einstieg zur Band empfehlen.Bei ihren beiden vorherigen Alben steht der Gesang und Texte mehr im Vordergrund, was aber heute etwas überholt erscheint.Cover und Gestaltung sind ebenfalls ansprechend. Ruhig mal reinhören. Lohnt sich.
