Review: Handy and durable pocket sharpener - I have a full set of these handy sharpeners and while I don’t think they are great for finish work, they work great on knives in the field. I have a coarse one for hatchets and such plus a fine and extra fine for my knives. I carry average quality knives so they don’t have exotic metals that never rust or get dull. They need occasional touch ups to stay sharp. I have found that the extended length from the folding handles are really helpful to keep the angle of the blade precise allowing the smaller sharpening surface to act like a much larger stone. The handle also protects the hone when folded up.
