Review: Good Product, Terrible Instructions - The product is as described by the product description (and by other reviewers). Seems very well made and heavy duty, but as other reviewers mentioned the directions are dreadful, and they refer to a template that is nonexistent, but install was fairly easy. I had to do quite a bit of tinkering to move the old key cylinder into the new handle, but even that wasn't too hard. I suggest watching a YouTube video or two showing professionals installing push bars, as their tips + common sense are infinitely more helpful than the enclosed directions. Product serves the purpose we needed it to, appears as if it will last, and came on time from Home Hardware Central. Updated/Simplified Directions for those that need them: 1. Remove old lock set if needed 2. Remove head and end covers from push bar 3. Mount outside door handle 4. Hold push bar on inside of door, use a level to make sure it's straight, and mark the holes 5. Leave bar to the side and drill holes 6. Attach bracket to hold butt end of push bar 7. Insert bar into bracket and put in rest of the screws 8. Mount roller latch to frame 9. Reattach head and end covers

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does not lock or open from outside**
A: Yes, it does.  The keyset merely engages or disengages the exterior handle from operating the latch mechanism.  When "locked," the handle moves, but does not do anything to actuate the latch.  When "unlocked," the handle will operate the latch to open the door.  If the panic bar is in the "dogged" position, the door is always unlocked, and the handle keyset won't make any difference, as the door cannot be locked.  I hope this helps you understand how this device operates.

**Q: Is this for outdoor use?**
A: I am using it on an outside door. There have been no problems and no rusting.  I do not know if the manufacturer intended it to be used outside.

**Q: What size stile is necessary to mount this bar?**
A: This exit device does not work on narrow style glass doors. If the door is 36 inches wide we recommend that the styles be 6 inches minimum.

**Q: Is it possible to get 3 keyed the same?**
A: They are sold on Amazon in packs of 4 keyed alike. Here is the link

You can order 3 and take the exterior levers to a lock shop and they can key 2 of them to match the third very easily. They use a Schlage C keyway
