Review: Great plug and play camera - We constructed a new house and had them pre-wire the house with ethernet cables so that we could install our own security system. Found Reolink at a third of the price of what other companies charge to do for you. All I had to do was mount the cameras to the external wall and then plug them in. If you know how to plug in a computer to a monitor...then you know how to set this up. Cameras have been up for several months in Florida weather and still work great, so seem pretty durable. Picture clarity is great, and love that I can watch it through their app. I live in a pretty busy area, so it's very simple to just open the app on the phone and do a quick check if anything is going on. Also, I had some user errors on my side and reached out to technical support and they responded in less than 6 hours in the evening! Figured out that one of my ethernet wires was crimped incorrectly, and had to fix it. But that's a problem with the people that laid the cable and not Reolink. Would recommend to anyone looking for a PoE camera system EDIT: 11/26/2020 - one of the cameras stopped working and I reached out to customer service. They were able to process a replacement for free in less than 24 hours. On top of being a great product they also have great customer service. Would rate 5 stars twice if I could!

So, you can disconnect monitor and mouse after its setup. I had some power delivery issue to the NVR and replacement was really easy. Took some pictures, shipped the NVR to Reolink and they sent me a new one within a week. Highly recommend this NVR package and Reolink.

**Q: Does this package really come with 5mp cameras? I looked up the product number elsewhere and everything I find says the cameras are 4mp**
A: Hi Sean, this is definitely a 5MP camera system, it's our new release in the year of 2018.
It has the same appearance as our 4MP cameras. 
The 5MP camera is with 2560x1920 resolution while 4MP is with 2560x1440.

**Q: Can this system be easily set up without streaming to the company's servers? are the directions included for achieving this?**
A: Yes. The system does not need any setup to have it stream online or local live view. 1. Local Live View on Monitor: Just power on the NVR and plug the cameras to the ports, they will stream video.2. Streaming online: The system comes with UID, which goes through its highest secured server to transit data directly from the NVR to your PC Reolink Client or REOLINK app. anytime and anywhere. Thanks.

**Q: Can i use a 5-port gigabit poe switch in the home network to connect 4 cameras (instead of using the poe ports of nvr for cameras)?**
A: Short answer, Yes. Long answer. Absolutely positively yes. You can even use a POE Injector. It does however beg the question as to why you would have thought that it won't work. The systems NVR regardless of how many POE ports it has on it can support up to 32 cameras. IE: if you have 20 cameras and a 4 port NVR, you will need 16 more POE injectors or 16 more ports on an POE switch or any combination that equals 16.

**Q: Can wifi camera connect to NVR ??**
A: Ditto on the good luck.  I purchased a RLC-511W.  It's installed 15 feet up on my garage.  It hasn't worked well since I put it up.  It's my understanding that the camera connects to the NVR via the router.  I've now purchased a SD card hoping that I can at the least review footage when I have an incident but I doubt it.

Simple and Excellent. Works great and as expected. Really easy to install and setup. Easy to view live and recordings on phone. So, you can disconnect monitor and mouse after its setup. I had some power delivery issue to the NVR and replacement was really easy. Took some pictures, shipped the NVR to Reolink and they sent me a new one within a week. Highly recommend this NVR package and Reolink.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect but often loses internet connection and must be restarted manually

Great product, camera pictures are clear day and night. Works well attached to TV. App works very well. Only downside is the main unit is hardwired to the internet router and still loses connection maybe once every couple weeks. Why does it lose connection? Two reasons. If the power goes out it may have a problem reconnecting, so I will put a UPS battery on it to make it stay on through minor power interruptions. Second, sometimes it just loses connection, which is random. You must manually turn the unit on and off or it will never reconnect to the internet. VERY annoying. I can remotely restart my Cox router from my phone but the DVR never reconnects by itself. This is annoying if you are away on vacation. I played with the AI features and the sensitivity and person, dog, car detector and it works okay but the only problem is that headlights from cars turning down the street always set this off. The doorbell goes off all night no matter what settings or sensitivity or view masking that I use. I found that turning off the front doorbell IR light stops bugs from being attracted to fly towards it all night and setting off the doorbell as much as it did before. All that being said it is a great deal! You really don't need to pay monthly fees for security camera and doorbell with this product. The hardest part about this product is wiring up through the attic and out the soffit vents and down the walls for the doorbell. But it is worth it because the connection is 100% solid between the cameras and the DVR unit. Wifi cannot compete.
