Designed for professional guitarists seeking precise, latency-free performance and versatile tonal options, it sets a new industry standard in octave effects. ## Description Fusing classic BOSS octave tones with the latest tracking technologies, the BOSS OC-5 sets a new standard in octave pedal performance. Vintage mode provides a spot-on recreation of the legendary mono OC-2 from 1982, while Poly mode offers numerous enhancements for extended-range playing. And with the addition of an octave-up feature, a span of three octaves is now available for creative exploration. From fat, low mono sounds to octave-shifted chords and more, the OC-5 delivers the widest range, finest sound quality, and best playability in any octave stomp to date. Review: Finally ......... - As a solo guitar (five-finger picking) /vocalist with feet drums, after all these years of hoping, finally BOS has delivered to me the bass player of my dreams, who can follow me without error in the many unusual keys (C#, Eb) I play in. I am now a complete one-person, 5-peice AI band, with no splits in the money made or personality /scheduling conflicts. Absolutely miraculous, is the only word to describe my bass player - the BOS OC-5 in poly-mode ("Bassonizer"). It is almost like the BOS OC-5 becomes more intelligent as time goes on. It plays bass notes to my chords and/or just about anything else I play. Quality of the bass sound is perfect. There are two outputs, which is an option to run a separate bass amp for your bass notes while keeping the precious guitar settings going direct. For my purposes I only use -1 octave because of the limitations of my gigging amp. Bass notes are totally adjustable from the BOS unit or the amp as separate from the guitar (direct). I use a Helicon Harmonizer (desertcart) along with the OC-5, there is no adverse interference or conflict with either of the units. Now looking on desertcart for 3 bobble-head dolls, to become part of my on-stage presentation - two singers and one bass player. Only Negative: There is a delay, but that negative point almost makes the entire presentation more human. I am sure the OC-6 will overcome that. I prefer that setting which is unique to the OC-5. **Q: Does it work well with a bass?** A: Not sure why someone would want to put bass on top of bass, but for guitar, this pedal is a major break-through. Now I can play guitar and sing - with the BOS - OC5 playing bass for me. **Q: Power cable?** A: This pedal can be operated by either a 9 volt battery or using a Boss brand PSA ac dc adapter. It can also be powered off the Boss TU-3 pedal with a BOSS daisy chain cable and PSA AC adapter. **Q: With a baritone ukulele, would the poly & lowest settings simulate bass accompaniment ok?** A: Not sure what frequency range a baritone uke is, but for guitar, the new BOS - OC5 Poly mode plays great bass for you while you are playing your guitar and singing. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally ......... *by C***C on March 29, 2023* As a solo guitar (five-finger picking) /vocalist with feet drums, after all these years of hoping, finally BOS has delivered to me the bass player of my dreams, who can follow me without error in the many unusual keys (C#, Eb) I play in.
