## Description

Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) MEDIUM are a great staple for a variety of reptiles to due their extremely high calcium content and low fat content. These bugs do NOT need to be dusted down with calcium when being fed to various reptiles! They can be stored at room temperature for 1-2 weeks. If kept between 50-55 degrees they should last even longer! They require no additional food while being stored! These are NOT the trademarked Phoenix Worms but they are the same type of grub. The large BSFL are 5/8” and larger and perfect for various reptiles, fish and birds!

Review: The were all alive and doing great. - They were shipped through the US mail, so it took about a week to get them. The temperatures in our area are really hot, but when they came, apparently, the mail service had protected them from the extreme heat and the box they came in wasn't hot. The larvae were all alive and ready to live in my new bio-pod and grow into chicken food. The seller seems very responsible and the US mail was also very careful. The box they were shipped in also said on the box that the contents were live insects and to protect them from extreme heat and cold. Will order again if the need arises.

**Q: Will these fee off horse poop?**
A: i have a harvester that i have used several types of poop -- chicken, rat, horse and cow mostly ...as a base -- i then add veggie scraps and other scraps --with just poop it takes longer for the grubs to grow and they aren't as large -

**Q: Are these the larvae of naturally large flies or tiny like the phoenix?**
A: I dunno what are those different flies you mentioned, but these hatch into standard BS flies that are around 12-15mm. The worms were tiny though, way too small for my beardie.

**Q: It is 100+ degrees. How do you ship to keep them alive?**
A: I received them in florida summer, and ALL were alive. :)

**Q: Do these need food? Do they stay in refrigerator?**
A: No. I feed them. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. Depends on the temperature

Left NJ on the 4th, arrived FL, 10 days later. Pretty slow transit but all are alive, 1k supposedly. Dumped them in the BSF bin ,that was prepared ahead of time, and they all disappeared in a short time, down into compost.
