The nib is practically on par with the nib on my Pilot Custom 823, my favorite pen of all, but this 743 is more affordable; the only real difference to the 823 is that the 743 uses a cartridge/converter instead of a piston fill mechanism. The pen is black with gold trim and quite elegant. This is an outstanding value. Get one!
