This is so amazingly awesome! My little Min Pin Reese has always hated the rain. In the past I would often follow her around with an umbrella over her and myself, it doesn't work very well. She is 7 and I wish I had this umbrella from the start when she was a puppy. It works really nicely. I like the fact that it is clear so you can see what the dog is doing. My little one has a tendency to just play around to avoid going to the bathroom just so she can go inside quickly to get out of the rain. Collapsing the umbrella was not clearly explained, once I figured it out it was easy. You have to put the umbrella down on the ground while opened and push down then it will fold right up.

This was dangerous!! When he went to pee against a bush, the edge of the umbrella kept poking him which caused confusion and panic. I was trying to calm him and detach it, but doing that while he was struggling was impossible. That made him panic further and run into the street. Thank God there were no cars at the time. The umbrella was dragging and catching on the ground as he kept trying to run away from it, which made him slip in the rain, which made the umbrella whip around and poke him. I was able to catch him finally and detach it. Thank God he wasn't injured, but your dog might not be so lucky. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

My Maltese and I LOVED this doggy umbrella - until it broke. For all of her 5 years, she has been terrible about going outside to do her business in the rain. I would snap the chain of this easy-open umbrella to her collar and out she'd go. She never paid any attention to it and its presence didn't bother her at all. Some reviewers have said the chain leash is too short but I think it is the perfect length. Any longer and the dog would be out from under the umbrella getting wet. You do have to hold the handle vertically over the dog which is somewhat awkward, or once again the dog would get wet. But after using it a few times I got used to it and it wasn't an issue. A closed loop handle, or a thicker straight (no hook or loop) would be easier to hold onto since you do have to hold it in this somewhat awkward vertical position to keep the umbrella over the dog, but alas, it's a hook shaped handle. Unfortunately, the metal handle arrives in two pieces for assembly and this is the major flaw of the umbrella. As soon as I saw it, I knew this would be the weak point where the umbrella would break, and sure enough, where the two pieces of the metal handle screw together snapped. Since they screw into each other with a little screw, and the screw is sheared off inside, there is no way to repair it. I thought about trying to duct tape the two halves together but the bottom part of the handle slides down into the clear plastic umbrella when you close the umbrella, so you can't duct tape the two handle halves together and still be able to close the umbrella. So the bottom line is I loved the umbrella and it worked great for me and my doggy up until the moment it broke, and we have not used it very many times. I just searched Amazon for another that appears to have a one-piece handle and have ordered it. If it comes and it's a two piece, screw together, handle again, I will be disappointed because I know that it too will soon break.

I thought this doggy umbrella was awesome and it worked really well but my little 5 pound mini Bichon was not all that fond of it, it made her a little nervous having something above her I guess. But if you think your pet could handle one of these I would definitely try it if it does not work out you can easily send it back.

This umbrella is perfect for Bert! It attaches right to the back of his collar and sheilds his whole body. My best friends dog, Bert, really hates the rain and we have had almost two straight weeks of rain. It's been a huge pain to get him to go outside and it makes him restless in the house when he wont take a proper walk. This umbrella is perfect for him! I was a bit worried it wouldn't fit because I would consider Bert to be medium sized and not a small dog, but it covers him perfectly. Of course, the rain stopped as soon as this was delivered so I will update the review as soon as it rains. We tested it in the house and he loved his umbrella! I was given this super cool product at a discount for an honest review.

This is a well made umbrella. However, it makes a loud noise when opening. My dogs were all scared of having this umbrella over them. I would not recommend chaining to dogs collar. My dogs panicked when it was attached to them, and tried to run away with this, and they smashed into wall. Safer and easier to use dog raincoat.

This dog umbrella came very handy during this stormy weather in Cali. I have a small 11lbs poodle with its body 15in long and he fit well under it. He’ll need a little more to get use to it or actually me to maneuver the umbrella when he gets near an object to pee because the umbrella hits the object and he gets startled other than that, the umbrella did it’s job in keeping my fur baby dry!

It works well and if your dog really doesn't like the raiin, it will only take a few times for them to adjust to it. I like that it is clear so I can still see my pup reaction.

My dog is the most happiest dog now that he can walk in the rain without it touching him LOL
