These Color Catchers are terrific at absorbing the loose dye within the washing machine when a quilt is washed for the first time. Instead of the white coming out muted because the dye absorbed into the white fabric, the white remains white because the Color Catcher does exactly what it is named to do. The darks can do their "bleeding" and the whites don't have to suffer for it. No prewashing of fabric needed! These are also really great for overly dirty regular clothing.
