It doesn't bounce and I think a dog would chew this ball in pieces in a matter of minutes. I have three medium size dogs and would never consider this ball a suitable toy for them. **Q: is this a standard size ball or the large? I am looking for the standard size** A: The blue ball that I ordered is about 2-inches in diameter, it is firm but soft, fits comfortably in hand.
