Put the glue on it, fold it in half making sure you have full glue coverage. You may need goggles. Apply, smooth and hold for about 5 minutes. I don't advise messing with it or running a vacuum in it for at least 24 hours. **Q: Does it work under the water?** A: Yes, this patch works under water. You simply add the rubber cement to the patch ensuring that you get as close to the edges as possible, then fold the patch onto itself (in half...like a taco), take it under water, unfold and put it in place. You just have to hold it for a minute or so. We dried the area with the leak, placed the patch and it stuck. But as soon as we went to add water back in, the patch just slid off. We tried again and the same thing happened. Our leak is on the bottom of the pool so we had to drain it to patch it. The patches are very thick and sticky but as soon as water touches them, all stickiness is gone.
