Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent

Another wonderful hit cd from Lewis Capaldi. Highly recommend.

Lewis Capaldi has an incredible voice and all of the songs on this CD are brilliant -- from the lyrics of love songs, lost loves, thought-provoking mental health comments, to the melody and actual music! It's held a permanent place in my car CD player, I love it SO much!! I highly recommend purchasing this CD! I will say that some songs have the 'f' word in them, so maybe not for younger kids, and some songs are about anxiety, so may be a trigger for some folks.

This is an Amazing album. I bought It for the song “someone you loved”, but now is on one of my favorite albums. Ever song, lyric and music, with Mr. Capaldi ripping voice Makes it even compelling and soul searching. I didn’t know what to expect, when I first saw his video for “someone you loved “ and thought it was a joke, not joining all the haters, but I thought he was a much older person versus the “young” man with such a beautiful voice. Someone you loved is just the introduction of something BIG and “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent” for this talented young man. I thought that Adel was the only person that could sing with such harmony and soul in her songs, but Louis put her wining voice to shame. Louis Capaldi deserves and should get every accolade and recognition that is coming his way.

I always felt that music 🎶 sounds better on Vinyl.

Nothing so exquisite and at once brutal as love. All the tortured angst pounded into searing lyrics and a vocal force that seems to echo powerhouses from Roy Orbison to George Ezra. Even though all the suffering of young love is immediate, after a 26 year marriage, songs like “Someone You Loved,” and “Forever” had a peculiar resonance for me as a recent widow. I simply cannot remember a better debut album. But I’m old as dirt so I’m sure I’m making an omission somewhere. While I did collect and compare Capaldi’s earlier acoustic single releases, and they are also savory, I didn’t agree with an earlier observation that this album seemed overproduced. There is a delightful rawness and indeed some areas that lack polish. It culminated in a perfection not unlike hearing Richard Harris delivering McArthur Park, and knowing that no one else could or should deliver that song, technical perfection be frelling damned.
