Sometimes I use them sometimes I don't. You can have the lights off and use just the diffuser. The "on" light stays on consistently. It’s frustrating since I have a health condition that affects my hands. :/ I’m not sure what to do, may need to return. I absolutely love this! It’s such a great little diffuser for the price. It works perfectly for a small area (I keep it by my bedside). If you fill it up, it lasts for many hours, even on the constant mist setting. It’s super easy to use and is very cute. I do wish there was pink light but the purple is super pretty. I like that there’s spectrum of colors. My only real criticism is that it’s a little difficult to take the top off, especially if there’s still water inside and you’re worried about spilling. The whole unit is very smooth and so it can be difficult to get a grip on it to twist the top off. I have a health condition that makes my hands stiff and it can be difficult to grasp things, especially since I often have lotion on my hands when I’m using it (my chemo meds dry out my skin so I put on lotion after, and I am usually using the diffuser after chemo to help with the nausea and headaches). But it’s not that big of a deal and I’m sure I’ll figure out the best/easiest way to open it. Overall, I’d definitely consider it a 5 star product. The price is reasonable for the quality and it works as described!
