A: Yes, it comes with a link to download the software.

**Q: Does it work with the bmw 330i e46?**
A: No.  You need the K+DCAN cable and something like INPA to communicate with the car's electronics.

**Q: Will this work on 2012 bmw z4?**
A: On your E89, it very well should.  You will need ISTA diagnostic software however to talk to the car.

**Q: Does it work for bmw x1 e84?**
A: In general, this cable will NOT work on an E-series BMW.  You need the K+DCAN USB cable instead along with INPA or similar.

Did exactly what I needed it for. Hooked it up to my laptop and from my laptop to my BMW with no issues at all. Thick high quality cable and great quality connectors. This is the only brand I would buy no doubt. Also has good length so you can work comfortably. I sat in the passenger side of my car while the connector was hooked up on the driver side. Extremely easy to use and it’s all plug and play.
