## Description

A Place to Bury Strangers' new album WORSHIP is explosive, visceral, and dark. WORSHIP interweaves threads of krautrock, dream-pop, and 80s goth without ever losing the edge that is quintessentially Strangers.

Review: Melodic noise I can't resist - Radio says they are the new My Bloody Valentine. No, they share with them what all these bands share--the sound of train brakes from those 19th Westerns-noise. But these guys are more like 21st century Sonic Youth, melodic, driven, dark. I love it. They pound out distortion and speed it up, mix it with dark, fuzzy vocals and it hits the mark. It's as simple as that. I once saw Social D open and then Sonic Youth came on the stage and riddled, pummeled the audience with waves of frenetic distortion, then Neil Young came on the stage and performed a perfunctory, rather mundane trip through his catalog. A Place to Bury Strangers are a hybrid of all of these three bands in my hyperbolic mind. Musically mutated genetics come to fruition here and now. I love this band. They have a vision as different as I remember Husker Du having in the late 80s, meaning no one compares really to them. They have no rivals. I really thought December Sound came close to these guys a few years back, don't know what happened to them. Still, this is cool stuff. 6 stars.
Review: My third favorite APTBS album. But that's saying I like it a lot! - A really good A Place to Bury Strangers. It has a quality which it shares with Transfixiation of being cacaphonic when played loud and Atmospheric when played turned down. I like in this order Transfixiation, A Place to Bury Strangers, Worship, and Exploding Head. Pinned being my least favorite. They are a really good (my favorite at the moment) "New" band. They've been around for about 10 years, but like very few other bands, have achieved the (for me) highly valued quality of not really sounding like any other band.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HAIL APTBS!
*by C***. on January 3, 2016*

Yep... these guys cannot do anything wrong. What is there to say, Jesus and Mary Chain.... roll over and play dead. ... Or, get up and play again with a lot of Mybloodyvalentine & Lovesliescrushning gorgeous noise in the fore-ground. HAIL APTBS! eitherway... this is an essential album to get.
