They are actually made of a softer rubber and are a lot nicer than the ones that come stock with my microscope so it is more comfortable to use for extended periods of time. I'm not sure if these will fit other microscope models but with the AmScope SE400-Z they fit perfectly and are really easy to install and remove. These are a lot easier on the areas around my eyes and would definitely recommend them to anyone that might be looking for a second set or just a more comfortable eyepiece!!
