It is much smaller than my old one, yet does all the same things, except print in red. No biggy. The fact that it's portable makes it even better! The only thing is, with a full roll of paper (not the little dinky roll that comes in the package), it is just a little bit awkward. If there is one thing I don't like about it, it's that the buttons are very sensitive. If I accidentally brush a button that I didn't want, it screws up what I was doing and I have to start over. I have to be very careful about errant fingers! It prints nice and dark...easy to read. Contrary to what the directions say about the transformer plug getting warm, I don't notice that at all, and I keep it plugged in (they recommend unplugging it to save electricity because supposedly it gets hot) If you want the convenience of portability, with the characteristics of a desktop business calculator, I think you will like this calculator, and I would recommend it! Review: Got a new one to replace the old, 15 year old one! - I got this to replace one that was about 15 years old. It's not that the old one failed. It didn't. I just felt it was time. I needed a new ink pad for the old one and had lost the AC plug, so I just bit the bullet and got a new one. This calculator/printer is really reliable. I used it whenever I did trade shows to add up purchases. I never had a single problem with it, which is why I just got the same model. It's a nice size and can be used with or without the printing feature. It uses regular paper tape, not thermal, so it's easy to replace rolls and the ink lasts. I like to be able to run a tape so I can recheck my numbers without having to run them all over again. This is the best calculator I have ever used and highly recommend it. ## Features - Printing calculator - Portable - Cost/sell/margin ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000JEA5N4 | | Best Sellers Rank | #265,552 in Office Products ( See Top 100 in Office Products ) #78 in Printing Calculators | | Brand | Casio | | Calculator Type | Printing | | Color | Multicolor | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 1,129 Reviews | | Display Type | LCD | | Enclosure Material | Paper | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00053786208382, 00079767174217, 00079767174811 | | Item Dimensions L x W | 9.6"L x 3.9"W | | Item Highlight | Handheld printing calculator built for everyday office bookkeeping tasks | | Item Type Name | Casio Printing Calculator | | Item Weight | 373 g | | Manufacturer | CASIO | | Mfr Part Number | HR-8TM | | Model Name | RA3460 | | Model Number | HR-8TM | | Number of Batteries | 4 AA batteries required. | | Number of Items | 1 | | Power Source | Battery Powered | | Screen Size | 4 | | UPC | 778887908008 053786208382 666669837328 079767174217 079767174811 079676175428 806791935374 640206686372 999991393607 012951674087 053786137231 014444613917 072080010385 071030084810 053786286687 799916089055 956257455769 072091639957 521375553064 601000837735 666672977073 072090776080 601000757705 999993890678 100177372594 999996687329 053786285550 636123840454 971473200207 640026157175 8027106591… | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | ONE YEAR | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Casio - **Calculator Type:** Printing - **Color:** Multicolor - **Power Source:** Battery Powered - **Screen Size:** 4 ## Images ![Casio HR-8TM Plus - Handheld Printing Calculator - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71PSl7i6dhL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: how do you thread the paper through this machine** A: Turn the unit to the back(looking at battery compartment)There isa slit on top of unit .take the end of the paper and fold each side inward to form a triangle,Insert triangle through slit .Remove plastic coveron front of unit so that mechanism can be accessed.Put the end of the triangle in the space between the silver colored bar and the blackpiece.Push it in manually, then press the feed button on top left of keyboard.Paper should then feed through.Replace plastic cover. Hope this makes sense **Q: Does it come with an AC adaptor?** A: Yes, a Casio AC adapter was provided (Model Number AD-A60024). **Q: where can I get paper** A: It takes standard calculator printing rolls. http://www.officemax.com/office-supplies/paper/machine-rolls/product-ARS27330. **Q: Does this come with an ink and roll of paper?** A: Yes, although the roll of paper is not that long, so buy some spare rolls right away (it takes the standard calculator paper rolls). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compact, yet functional *by S***T on April 13, 2019* So far, I'm liking this (desktop) calculator alot! This is the best calculator I have ever used and highly recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice little calculator *by D***H on February 14, 2011* This calculator is replacing one that was misplaced years ago and the batteries ate it. It works very well and has more capabilities than I'll ever use (including figuring sales tax on items)! The keys are large, the screen is big enough to read, and it runs on batteries or electricity. The directions for installing the ink roller were nonexistent, so I ended up wearing the ink trying to get it in right. The first thing one needs to do is to remove the strapping tape holding the ink roller. Then, the tab should extend to your left as you snap the roller in with the roller down. Once I figured it out, it was easy. At any rate, the lack of directions is the reason for four stars. I look forward to using this little machine for many years. ## Frequently Bought Together - Casio HR-8TM Plus - Handheld Printing Calculator - Casio HR-10RC, Mini-Desktop Printing Calculator (New Version of The HR-8TM) - Universal UNV35720 16 lbs. 1/2 in.
