It comes in two boxes and the main box is pretty heavy so you might need help bringing it in. It took about two hours to put together, but that includes the time I was being distracted by the children and the fact that I put the bed frame in the wrong way and had to re-do it. I also couldn't find the proper hex bit on my drill so I had to hand tighten all the screws. The slats get screwed into the frame so you'll want a drill for that, and then you'll need a flat head screwdriver. Make sure you pay attention when you attach the bed frame to the supports because the piece for the ladder side has extra holes, oops! Also make sure that you clear each of the pre-drilled holes before assembly because there were some small wood pieces in some holes and if you didn't remove them you couldn't get the screws in. The bed itself is a little wobbly from end to end but not enough to worry me. If you anchor just one point to a wall that should reduce all wobble. The ladder seemed very sturdy. Max weight is 160 lbs so this is more a bed for a child. Sure it moves a little, but we stress not to play on it & so far so good.I read hundreds of reviews and researched for days and hours before deciding on this. I thought about buying an overpriced brand, but glad I didn't because this one is great for us.For size reference, my daughter is age 7 and 61lbs & 4'2 and twin fits her fine and her little friend can fit too! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ nicely packaged. This is our experience.I placed this order, it came to our doorstep in 3 days, both boxes, nicely packaged.Set the bed up, with hardly referring the the 'pictured' directions, (as well as written directions). Set up was COMPLETE within 2 hours. No per-driling needed. Everything was in order. All parts were packaged very nicely. We bought the cherry wood and the color looks rich. After set-up, my 8 yr old grandson climbed up the ladder and was VERY HAPPY because he has so much more room in his bedroom. He hurried and put his bean bag under the bed. He is making plans for when his buddy will spend the night, now that he has somewhere to have a friend spend the night. This is sturdy.
