I have purchased 4 of these adapters. The first time i had to drill the opening since it was slightly smaller than the 5/8" standard spud. I guess they figured this out since the last 2 I ordered did not require this. Seem to be well made and work well.

Used to convert a light tripod to an iPad tripod. No problem handling the heavy weight of the iPad.

I purchased 30 units (total of 60) and none of them fit a standard pin. These are too small. I purchased 15 sets a year ago and they worked great. This time, however, the quality is lacking to the point of unuse. I'd suggest looking elsewhere as their manufacturing is too inconsistent to be relied upon for a quality product.

(-1) It's a snug fit so they don't fit all my baby pins. (-2) The inner depth is not long enough to get the side screw into the etched part of some baby pins. (-3) Compared to a Manfrotto, the weight is less and feels less durable. (+1) Price is pretty good. So I'll give these 4 stars since they'll work just fine some times and it's good to have a handful of these converters handy.

I bought these to hold backdrop roller/chain mounts to light stands for a portable backdrop kit. They work splendidly. Adapters like these go for far more but these work perfectly well and I couldn't be happier. They can be used to hold almost anything to the top of a light stand or arm. I would buy again.
