Great case for optics +
This case is a smaller version of their largest case that I already owned. I was impressed with the quality-to-price value and I was not disappointed in this case either. It's waterproof and strong. Thumb buttons to open the clasps which lock in place and strong rimmed holes for padlocks to keep your items secure. The padding is quality stuff that will safely protect just about anything that will fit inside.

Strong, sturdy case
A very good large case. Fits my equipment. Comes with foam inserts that you cut out as needed.

Want to give it a 5
If the middle foam inserts bit the box better, I would give this product a 5 star rating. Bit of a quality control problem. Otherwise, excellent storage container and perfect internal dimensions. Helpful tips: 1. I cut a large polymer mat to fit the box, drilled out several holes on the sides, sanded all the sides and holes down, wove a relatively sturdy and thin ribbon underneath it. I left about 14-15 inches and wrapped in electrical tape to serve as handles. Works really really well. Very easy to remove the top layer of foam without worrying about deforming the sides or tearing foam inserting fingers. Top layer holds about 8lbs. Has not failed me. As long as whatever you put in the lower layer of foam is flush, it will be perfect. (Light grey side = facing up) (Dark grey side = facing down - emulate weave) 2. I found a thin, sharp letter opener about 5 inches long at Walmart. That made cutting out the foam inserts very easy and looks professional enough. I tried a hot foam cutter and no dice. This works way better. Little challenging to carve out the bottom, but you can do it going slowly with a headlamp to see your cuts. You’ll figure it out. Will update to 5 out of 5 if you send me another layer of foam with a better fit to my box. Cheers to your DIY projects.

Heavy duty, but not heavy!
This is my first pelican case, and I am using it to hold podcast video and audio equipment. The foam inside is very sturdy, and there is ample room for plenty of equipment. In spite of the over all sides of this case, it is not very heavy on the tone. The latches are amazing and strong, yet easy to operate with a pushbutton release. I would highly recommend the sturdiness of this case for anyone wanting to protect their equipment. The foam inside can be cut most easily with an electric bread knife.

Great case to protect equipment
I’m a consultant and do a lot of travel. While I don’t need to bring it all the time, it can be convenient to bring a printer with me on some trips. I bought a great little HP laser jet and got this case to protect it and make transport easier. Big fan.

What Can I Say, They're Pelican Cases
These are the gold standard in protective cases. I've gotten a few of these for work to transport electronics and circuit boards that ultimately end up on the space station. We can't afford to take the risk of an item getting damaged in transport and not finding out until a unit fails in orbit. Because of that, it's always Pelican. They close tight, they're weatherproof, and you can throw them across the room and the contents will be just as they were when you loaded them.
