StarTech.com 2-Post 6U Wall Mount Network Cabinet w/ 1U Shelf, 19" Wall-Mounted Server Rack Kit for IT / Data Computer Equipment, Ships Fully Assembled

Had a problem with network and other kit over heating during the recent warmer than usual weather, so decided to to purchase a rack to house it all in, with the hope it will allow better airflow and keep everything cooler. What initially drew me to the StarTech.com rack was the door and sides are mesh rather than the normal solid metal or glass which I figure will allow for better air flow. There's also vents at the top and bottom of the rack (at the front). In addition there's provision to install two 120MM fans at the top of the rack and another two at the bottom of the rack so there's the possibility of additional cooling should it be required. The door and side panels are both removable and lockable. Removing both makes for easier installation. Installation is fairly simple, there's a metal bar which you fix to the wall, you then hang the rack on this bar (similar to how kitchen cupboards are mounted). You will need two people to lift the rack into place. Gave four stars for "value for money" as £230 seems a lot for a 9U short depth rack. But then it is a very good rack, and so far I'm very happy with it, so maybe it is worth the money!

It came fully assembled and includes a full set of rack bolts for the whole cabinet and a shelf. It’s heavy and well made. Loads of air circulation space around the rack plus the air vents in the panels and door which was my main reason for going with this type of rack. Great value.

I needed a 9u rack that enabled full access to using 9u worth of kit. This seemed to fit the bill and the quality of the product is excellent. Being metal, there is an earthing point that was easy to connect a cable into (used local earth via electric ring using earth only cable and wiring in only earth on plug). A full complement of mounting screws and clip in nuts are provided. The included shelf has a nice finish on it that fits neatly to the unit under it. I've got the unit floor mounted, and there are fitting points on the bottom, however, the back is nearly fully open. This is advertised as a wall unit, but unlike other units, that provide access points, this is a large void. I chose this one over cheaper options as I liked the idea of the mesh sides to aid passive cooling. It looks great, is good quality. Would recommend it to others (as long as you're not put off by having the back missing (which if you are wall mounting, actually makes life easier).

Wall mounted 9U comms cabinet. Perfect for I wanted with great access, ventilation, key locking access panels and it looks the part. Highly recommended.

This unit comes with a reversible front door, which means you can very easily switch it from opening left to opening right, and vice versa. The hinge pins are spring-loaded, and the biggest effort is pulling out the plastic bushings and moving them to the other side. In other words, no problem at all. I'd ding them one star for including shiny/nickel instead of black fastening hardware, but the case is too good. Just order black screws and nuts and don't worry about it. The design of the metal mounting cleat was superb. There are cut-outs on the case to clear the lag bolts used to hold the cleat. Only issue was, the tabs weren't bent outward quite enough. Easy enough to adjust with a pair of pliers. All things considered, a very good cabinet for a very good price.

It's well built and comes with plenty of mounting screws and a generous roll of velcro cable tie. Very happy with this network cabinet.
