Bruce Willis, Richard Gere and Sidney Poitier star in the action thriller The Jackal. A ruthless assassin known as The Jackal (Bruce Willis) is hired to eliminate someone at the very top of the U.S. government. In order to track down this cold-blooded killer and prevent the hit, the FBI's Deputy Director (Sidney Poitier) and a Russian intelligence officer (Diane Venora) enlist the aid of an imprisoned Irish terrorist (Richard Gere). These unlikely allies enter a global race against the clock to stop the mysterious mercenary before he can complete his deadly assignment.

This movie has a star studded cast and captures Bruce Willis in his prime. Jack Black has a cool part in this film as well.

Bruce Willis - Master of Disguise
I absolutely love this movie! I have a VHS copy and recently bought a 3 set Bruce Willis collection on DVD and got to enjoy MERCURY RISING with my Mom. Then my 1 year old puppy got ahold of it. Of the three movies one I did not care for that's the one she didn't bite. My copy of THE JACKAL has two deep teeth marks in it. I was livid, but what was done was done, so I had to get another copy.I just watched the movie and loved every moment especially the music. If you've never seen it you are in for a treat. It shows Bruce Willis in a different light as the Bad Guy and a Master of Disguise. I really enjoyed all the various personalities he portrayed. It is such a dichotomy from what Willis's fans are used to, like Denzel Washington in TRAINING DAY. This was a very entertaining movie. Action packed, suspenseful, featuring a couple tough brave women plus Sidney Poitier, and Richard Gere. It's rather apropos how the enemy was hired by a Russian set on revenge.
