Expansion set for the original game!
We've been playing for several decades, back when it was only found at college campuses back east. It's fast paced and lots of fun! The expansion packs let you play with more players. We used to have a 2nd set with an X on the corner so we could play with more people. They don't last forever with heavy use, but well worth it. We've had multiple sets over 40 years.

YES! GET THIS! It's cheaper than the original version
YES! GET THIS! It's cheaper than the original version, yes by less than a dollar I'll give you that, but I'm a penny-pincher, what can I say? Fun card game, basically the same thing as "Nertz", "Demon", "All for one Solitare", whatever you like to call this classic timeless game! I like this version because it's cheap, the cards are cute, as well as the name! Also easy to organize, pack, and transport haha. If you don't want to be judged for having the expansion pack and not the "original game", go ahead and get the original game I guess. Doesn't cost too much more, even though they are the exact same thing excluding the color of the box for the cards and the words "Expansion Pack" on the cover of the box for the cards.

Play this fun "expansion" standalone for up to four players, or combined with the original for up to eight
Dutch Blitz is a favorite party game of mine, good for fast, frenzied fun in a group. It's very similar to Ligretto and Nerts/Pounce/Racing Demon/etc., with a few rules differences and the graphic design of the set to differentiate itself from the others. This expansion pack can be played standalone for up to four players, or combined with the original Dutch Blitz (in the green box) to accommodate up to eight. Each of the two packs comes with four decks of 40 cards, in four colors numbering 1-10. The backs of the decks help differentiate them into individual players' decks for the game, and make it easier to sort and score at the end of a round. The faces are brightly colored, with large easy-to-read numbers, and include figures of boys and girls to help mark the "suits" for stacking. The gameplay is frequently chaotic as players race to stack cards in the center of the table in number order, while trying to get their own Blitz Pile in front of them cleared out. Points are scored at the end of each round once someone's Blitz Pile is cleared, with players earning one point for each card they stacked in the center and losing two for each card left in their own Blitz Pile. Gameplay goes to 75 total points, which doesn't seem like much until you really get going and find yourself frequently finishing a round with a negative score. The wild swings in scoring, however, keep the gameplay interesting, and allow even players who are far behind in score to suddenly come out ahead. The only real drawbacks to the game are that the boy and girl icons can be hard to differentiate in the heat of the moment until you get used to the game, and that the game packaging opens at one end with a flap like many card boxes, but stores the cards side-by-side in two piles. This can make it difficult to store them without damaging their edges, and cause them to slide against each other while in the packaging and mix up the decks slightly. This is a game that should have had a plastic tray insert to hold the cards in place inside the box.

WILL TAKE OVER YOUR GAME NIGHT
My God where do I start with this game, it has consumed our game nights. It might be a little confusing your first game but you quickly pick it up and start developing your own strategy. We play all kinds of card games and board games, we have not stopped playing this game since I picked it up. After our first couple of game nights with it I had to buy the expansion so we could play with more people.

FUN Game!
I bought this pack and the original when there was a sale. I thought it would make a great gift but ended up taking it out of my "gift" closet one night when my adult kids and a few others were sitting around. I was very skeptical because of the name of the game and didn't think it would be that big of a hit. I WAS SO WRONG! This game is a blast! It's the first thing we want to do when we get together as a family and I can even just invite my kids over to play and we have so much fun! I would imagine that this game would be fun for anyone 8 yrs old and up. VERY fast moving but an entire game does take a few hours. Having said that it is easy to set a time limit and cut it down to 15, 30 or 60 minutes. I am sure this will be a lifetime favorite for my entire family!!

Great idea!
Great idea! We've been doing this for years with a spare deck of Dutch Blitz cards, since we often play with more than four people. Our daughter asked for Dutch Blitz for Christmas, not realizing that the expansion pack even existed. We purchased the base pack, found that there was an expansion pack -- so purchased that as well. We gave both to her for Christmas and she was surprised and delighted. We purchased a set for ourselves as well, since we tend to be game players in our family. The expansion pack allows you to add up to another four players to the game, with cards that have the same images on the back, but in different colors. Got to think a bit when sorting the cards, but it works well and the game is a lot of fun!
