This seems to be the only book available on EtherNet/IP, so it has that going for it. Unfortunately the book is a bit short on detail. It's more of an appetizer than a main course. It is hard to find good information on Ethernet/IP. This book provides a lot of that information. It is easy to read and informative. It is more aimed at developers than end users, but would be useful for both. I highly recommend it!

If you stuck with ODVA specifications and look for some clarifications, this book is not helpful because it is too vague. It repeats same broad repetitive passages in many places. In the begin it also states some wrong facts about space exploration.
