Simeoni Fertil Dispenser Adjustable Granular Applicator

I have had and used this for about a month now. I currently have about 12000 Christmas trees in the field and will have about 25000 when the field is full. I used this to give each tree 1 oz of granulated lime and will give 1/2 oz of fertilizer in the spring. Before purchasing I debated about whether it was worth the price, it seems expensive for what it is, more expensive than a good backpack sprayer? I didn't find anything else like this, backpack sized, and I didn't want to broadcast over the tree tops and whole field, so after making some calls looking for more info, I purchased it. It came quickly no problems. Good clear instructions in the box. Everything is adjustable, which is very good. Take the time to set it up to be comfortable to carry and use. After setting it up take some more time to adjust it to be even more comfortable to use. I used the shorter hose, then after using it shortened the hose about 6", and turned the trigger and handle a little to the left and moved the straps to the top anchor. The point being set it up to be comfortable to use, it is heavy when full on your back and the tube is heavy when full of product. I used a kitchen scale to check how much product to dispense. Set it to dispense 1/2oz and I dispense one time on both sides of the tree. I checked after dispensing 1-50# bag and it was still set at 1/2oz. I checked it a week later and still the same. After some use, I decided 1/2 bag at a time is best for me, and only about 2-3 hrs use at a time, but I am walking up and down a hilly field. It is working well for me. It is made out of medium heavy plastic and good steel fittings. I really like the ability to adjust it for use and ergonomics. I have used it in less than ideal conditions-heavy fog & drizzle, and it worked fine just only requiring a little clean up when done. Granulated lime is not consistent in size but there hasn't been any problem dispensing it. I still think it is over-priced for what it is, but I didn't find a good alternative. It is well made enough that I think it should last many years. I'm not sure I would turn this over to just any employee, I think it could be easily/carelessly abused and broken. If I had to replace it, I would buy it again and still complain about how much it costs for what it is. If it holds up for this 7-10 tree life cycle I will be satisfied with the value, thus the 5 star rating.

Works well. Just what i needed for my native littoral plants. Thumb does get tired after a while, but that's not the manufacturer's fault. I just bought a second one.
