LEONARDO DA VINCI Paperback : Walter Isaacson: desertcart.in: Books Review: Master work by Walter Isaacson...Must have book in your personal collection - This is fantastic book written by Isaacson on Da Vinci. Very inspiring if you are interested in life long learning, curiosity, innovation. Not only this book gives an entertaining account of Da Vinci's life bit also sheds light on his work ethics, methods used by him while learning many things. He was true polymath in renaissance era. He had genius level mastery in engineering, arts and literature. He left thousands of pages of his notebooks that he used to always used to carry with him and copiously write into. And he has written extensively on his interests and his methods as he was big fan of daily To Do lists. The book also gives account of his personal life. The real beauty of this book is all those color photographs of various renaissance era art like paintings and statues. The author also 'explains' these art works done by da Vinci and other contemporary artists. Isaacson also gives us context and background for each art work and tells us subtle nuances that differentiates that art work. Consider it as a quick and easy art appreciation course. The book is hard cover and printed on thick, good quality paper. In one of his interview the author tells us why he insisted on high quality printing. He said while writing book on Jobs they could not find many of his past emails written in 1990s. On the other hand Da Vinci has left some much of his writing behind and that is accessible even after 500 years because it is on the paper. He says he became believer in old technology like paper. I suggest the same to you. Do not buy kindle version. Buy paper copy for your collection. You will enjoy it more. Anyway all these these color pictures on nice thick paper and their explanation by the author takes this book to different league altogether. This alone will ensure a permanent place for this book in your personal library. I can strongly recommend this book to the students, artists, entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists and life long learners. They will get a lot out of this brilliant book. Parents should encourage their college going kids to read this book. Review: Life Story Of “Renaissance man.” Narrated By The Master Biographer. - Leonardo Da Vinci needs no introduction. An exceptionally curious and intelligent person, an inventor, engineer and a painter par excellence - all rolled into a single persona. Beautiful and artistic but thanks to Amazon it got a dent...
What a beautiful book this is,I haven't started reading it but the look of the book is just gorgeous, this is the best book I have ever bought. The page quality of this book is just stunningly amazing, never had a book having such good quality pages. I bought it for 799 and this is the most costly book I ever bought apart from my academic books, but I would say it's okay to pay that price, because it's quality is amazing and the content is invaluable. Can't wait to read this book. Amazing But as good as the book is,the delivery was a bit rough, because the book got a dent and it's not expected from Amazon, they packagded it well in a plastic bag,but did not put it into a cardboard box,and that's why it got a dent. I should say you should read this book...

Always be “Curious”
Its been more than a year since I purchased. Read it in parts over the year and tried to digest the “Genius” stuff of what Leonardo is. The pages which left me with a huge impact is the conclusion provided by Walter, it will stay with me for life.

Truly a Gem
Walter Isaacson's exceptional intelligence evokes in an organized and simple way with this masterpiece. This book is the monumental tribute to one of the greatest geniuses ever lived: Leonardo Da Vinci, who was not merely extraordinarily smart, but also an acute observer, voraciously curious, and ingeniously creative human. After reading the spell-binding plot of Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, I was fascinated by Leonardo and eager to read more about him. I purchased a hardcover version of Leonardo Da Vinci, The Biography by Walter Isaacson, the most prominent biographer, who has written several masterpieces including, my favorite, Steve Jobs. After completing this book, I am overwhelmed by how special he was. The author has intelligently organized the whole life of Leonardo in 32 chapters, illustrated with full-color photographs of paintings, sketches, and diagrams from his notebooks. Leonardo was truly one-of-a-kind. His curiosity impelled him to become among the handful of people in history who tried to know all there was to know and to know about everything that could be known. Just as an example, he put" Describe the tongue of the woodpecker " on one of his oddly inspiring to-do lists. I'll eminently recommend this book to everyone because one can learn life-changing lessons from the life of a genius, yet also a human who did mistakes. Leonardo set an example of how acute observations, fanatic curiosity, willingness to question dogma, and ability to discern patterns across disciplines can lead to a great leap in human understanding. Aah! The Mona Lisa is on page 476. Rating is de facto 5/5⭐️.

You can tell when someone writes a book out of love for the subject. Now, that is the case here. Isaacson is everything but dry or academic. I read the book twice and did not run out of excitement. It might not be hundred percent accurate or authentic, but it is a book that represents a delightful journey into the mind of mental giant. A book that does not try to be more than what it is. The 500 pages feel like a gentle breeze if you thoroughly immerse yourself in it, do not be scared of its size. Well done...
