These are perfect for pre-K and kindergarten! My son loves reading, but finding books for that level is difficult and I hate to buy a ton of books that are this level when I know over the next year or two he's going to be way past this level! So these are perfect and the stories are so cute! I love that they come in this set because his little competitive side comes out and he's so excited to move onto the next one

Perfect for phonemic awareness, phonics retention, letter recognition, and building confidence around reading on the whole. My son’s school uses this curriculum which is how I discovered it and as an educator I can stand behind its use to teach early readers. I love it and my son insists on practicing with out set at home each night.

I have used these in the classroom and for tutoring preschoolers. They work great with or without the Abeka program. Be advised if not using Abeka curriculum, the lowercase a is in computer type and the lowercase g is like typewriters. This is fine, but can be confusing if students have never seen it before.

While this is a pre-K reader, it says on the front that it is a read and color. I found that most of the pages were already completed and there was nothing to color. In book one, with short vowels, the picture for the letter “i” was an inch worm. For a child who is 3-4, that is too complicated. The pictures should be something a child this age is familiar with like ink. The page with the short “u” showed s hippo with an umbrella. My grandson only saw the hippo. A better picture would have been the umbrella by itself.
