My kids have been in piano lessons for a collective 8 years and all used Alfred lesson books and notespeller books. Match them together for a complete learning experience. A Notespeller lesson matches with a piano lesson in the matching lesson book. They're broken down and explained well. Multiple lesson grade levels. Would recommend.

Great book for teaching kids yourself, without the cost of a pricey piano teacher, as long as you know at least something about the piano. If you are trying to produce the next Mozart, this might not be the best book. Or you might need to supplement it with other books that stress the fundamentals of technique. But if you want your child to really enjoy learning piano, it's an excellent choice.

As a piano teacher for a dozen years, the Alfred Prep series is perfect for my young students. I use the Prep series to start any of my students in Kindergarten or First grade. It teaches them good beginning skills and moves at a good pace.

I love this course, even more than the basic one. It's got lots of music to reinforce each concept, and the songs are fun. It's also easy to follow so that parents can help children practice at home.

While this series is geared toward the "young" beginner, I've found that it works just as well with my middle school aged students. They like being able to play familiar tunes as well as the novelty pieces found in this book. Works well as supplemental material as well as a lesson book.

We love this piano lesson book. Each time our child completes a boom we order a new one!

Good book

One of the many Alfred piano books to help beginners acquire confidence and fluency.

Very good for young people, particularly the very clear and large print. Also easy stages which you can galop through if the child is a quick learner but enough material for the slowest pupil

A good follow on book for younger players. I have used it to teach from & find it very good.
