Great rich flavor; I'd call it worth the money. It's darker than depicted, but without doubt it is true in all ways this product should be.

This was a new product for us. I saw a recipe in NYT Cooking that called for bottarga and had never heard of it, despite having eaten my way around Sicily. I ordered it from my phone immediately with the Amazon app. The package showed up very quickly. The product is packaged perfectly, and in a way that allows you to grate the bottarga without putting your fingers on it. Most importantly, we loved how it tastes and what it added to the dish. My husband and sons loved it. It is so tasty, but not overwhelmingly fishy. It added a lot of flavor and, I think, reduced the need for salt because it is so flavorful. Normally I would have added shaved Parmesan or Asiago to the dish, but it didn't need the extra flavor. So maybe it is also good if you are trying to cut out cheese/dairy. I would also say that the weight of my sample was toward the high side of the company's estimated weight range. Totally happy. Will order again.

Excellent taste, but a bit pricey.

This was a very disappointing experience ! The product is almost tasteless , except for a barely perceptible fishy taste, it did not add anything to the seafood pasta I tried it on. I love fish in any shape and form and was prepared to have a special culinary experience but this was not it . I feel bad to have spent so much money on it , I could have had several tins of cod liver for that amount . I keep wondering what I missed, since Bottarga was enthusiastically mentioned in a new York Times Food article as an tasty addition to certain food to make it special.

The color is not as shows on Amazon. The size is very small. Amazon carrie left the package way from the front door. If I didn’t check my orders, I would not be able to pick up the package. I would like to get a credit refund for this product. Thanks

The flavor was bottarga, but lacked depth. Shaved thin to top an appetizer would probably the best use for this product. Tried using a whole package to make a pound of fettucine and while not bad the flavor was underwhelming. My (adult) kids likened the dish to eating pasta seated next to the open door of a quality seafood shop. However, for those not wanting a more subtle dish this could be the perfect choice.

Excellent grated on pasta! Adds a complexity / umami I keep it in a vacuum sealed jar in the fridge. Should last for a long long time.

This was quite disappointing. The roe was dry and difficult to spread. The taste was quite bland.
