First one was a dud. Second one worked great!!
Sorta tricky getting the last part glued but I made do. Also a bit small for my 2001 s10, but I used some RTV to fill in the gapes. Overall it works beautifully and way easier that removing everything to get a proper one on. It has been 5000 miles including off-roading and it is still holding up like a chance. Make sure you brake clean all the old grease first before packing with grease and dont overfill or you will have an impossible time getting the glue to work. Glue is very runny but drys fast which can be a good or bad thing. I reinforced the glued areas with some black rtv. Probably overkill, but if it is worth doing it is worth overdoing. Something we did when I was with 3/75 regiment in the Army.

The glue is total garbage
I like the idea of this product, if it worked it could save you a lot of time and energy. However, the glue in this kit is total garbage. Yes it will eventually dry and make a solid seam but it takes HOURS, not 5 minutes. This is essentially superglue and in my opinion, not suited for this application. Other split boot kits have an adhesive that essentially welds the two halves together but I couldn't source them in the USA.I glued this boot around my axle, following all directions to a T. Everything was spotless. The glue did not set for several HOURS. Even then some of the glue remained fluid and did not set up. I was forced to cut it back off and replace with an "over the joint" boot, which meant having to pull the axle anyway.Lesson learned, this shortcut isn't worth it unless you have no other option available. Otherwise just bit the bullet and do it right.

Quality product. Frustrating to install, but would buy again.
What an incredible pain in the a$$ to install. Took forever, wound up being messy, lots of cussing. But it has held up great and besides the difficult install I could not be happier with this product.

Works but not perfect
It does fit my car, easy put on the axle, a little bit issue is hard to seal the boot properly, maybe need use a better quality glue.

Size is smaller than claimed.
The quality of the item overall seems fine. I don't know for sure about durability because I just put them on the vehicle. Posts of YouTube show that the glue is very strong. I very much hope so, because the item is smaller than it should be.According to Amazon and numerous other sellers, this fits my vehicle. I need 4 inch ID for the big end. I bought 2 of these, and tried to dry fit one. Looks to be about 3/8 inch too small. I was going to return them, but I can't find any other choice that is bigger. I looked at every spit boot on every website to find one that claims to be 4". Only Doorman publishes detailed information available - Kudos. And more kudos for offering many choices. But this is the only one that claims to be as big as 4 inches. Beck Arnley makes split boots too, but I can't find detailed specs. So, this is the only one that claims the big end is 4 inches inside diameter. It is not. It is about 3 and 11/16. So, I am putting them on, as best I can. I have to stretch the outside end to get it over the rim of the CV joint. This was a HORRENDOUS effort, but I got the drivers side done, and have hopes for the passenger side. The amount of stretch is enough that I fear for the glue/seams. I hope it will hold. I'll need to watch these closely, to see if they hold up, or not.If the Doorman fails prematurely, I'll have to write to Beck Arnley or some British manufactures, and see if they offer boots that will fit my vehicle. The Brit choices look like they will, but the computerized compatibility check says they won't fit. And it would be arduous to get them.I opted for split boots because I didn't want to go through the (supposedly) much larger effort of replacing (or re-booting off the vehicle) the 1/2 shafts. Starting to wonder how much effort I really saved.

Measure and trim to make sure it's fit
Easy to do by yourself. Save time and money. Must follow instructions. Better watch videos on YouTube. Remember measure and trim both sides make sure it's fit before you glue and wait it's dry completely around 15 minutes or longer. Keep drop extra glue on boot for better sealing on glued areas of boot. Then apply all grease l. It's look quality to me and will last longer time if you do it correctly. Hope it's help.

It's not easy, but for DIYers, it's better than taking axles out!
It's not easy, but for DIYers, it's better than taking axles out!I would do this, again. I tried one side and waited a month. So far no leaks. The second one did leak because I did not secure the boot unit on the wheel side straight on. And, the screw clamp was not on as tight as I should.Oh! Best suggestion I learned: Take the wheel off in STRAIGHT steering; make sure car is secure! Then, with another, smaller jack/lift, try to raise the wheel up to make the axle less at an angle. Don't over do this. This is just to make the angles straighter and you will see why when you try it. :) Finally, the adhesive really works! Plan your steps. I think the instructions state that, too. Do a dry run with the boot sizing. I needed to trim both the inner and outer sides. Do this before you grease up. Glue the ONE side of the boot and give it an hour? to dry. It is not very pliable, so, you might think you'll break it when you put it over the naked and greasy CVJoint. YOU cannot have grease on the glued surfaces when you ready to finish it. Final, final: The material is not happy when sprayed with break cleaner. Degreaser OK. Personal experience. Good luck. Still, I would do this, again.
