Digitus 1-Port USB 2.0 Multifunction Network Server

The unit supplied to me was in second hand packaging and had only a euro plug, having overcome this I found the unit does not work ( power led on but it gets very warm and cannot see on network) needless to say the app also didn't seem to work, but that could be because the unit not working.

One of the few multifunction print servers out there that 1) can actually work with the scanner and; 2) works flawlessly with Windows 8. The 4 (instead of 5) stars rating is because I think it is a little bit expensive. It is being used in my office with a HP OfficeJet Pro L7480.

Avoid. Arrived with an EU plug rather than a UK one. The software fails to detect the print server even though I can see it on the network via my broadband router Without the software able to configure the printer you can't do anything. Returned.

100 megabit lan connection is useless for NAS unless you are living in 1995

Il disco in dotazione consente di installare l'applicazione che gestisce il funzionamento del print server. I S.O. accettati sono Windows e Apple, non Linux. Comoda la possibilità di fare anche le scansioni in rete e non solo la stampa. Si configura tramite browser ma non è wireless: ha solo la porta LAN. Nel mio caso avendo uno Skylink acquistato diversi anni fa, l'ho reso wireless usando lo Skylink come client. Comodo anche se non costa proprio poco.

Ich habe das Gerät zwar zurückgeschickt, aber grundsätzlich halte ich es für ein ordentliches Produkt mit einigen Nachteilen. In Bezug auf das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis scheint es jedoch eines der besten Angebote auf Amazon zu sein. Mein Hauptgrund für die Rücksendung war, dass ich fälschlicherweise dachte, das Gerät hätte eine eingebaute Antenne. Das sollte in der Produktbeschreibung deutlicher erwähnt werden, da nicht alle Nutzer technische Experten sind. Die Treiberinstallation ist etwas umständlich. Es wird zwar eine CD mitgeliefert, das klassische Medium, das man in ein CD-ROM-Laufwerk einlegt, das heutzutage kaum noch jemand besitzt, doch mit etwas Suche lässt sich der passende Treiber auch im Internet finden. Es ist nicht ganz einfach, aber machbar. Die zugehörige App wirkt ebenfalls etwas veraltet, lässt sich aber mit ein wenig Ausprobieren trotzdem nutzen. Insgesamt ist das Gerät also nicht besonders benutzerfreundlich, aber dennoch funktional, auch in Kombination mit einem Repeater. Allerdings ist es ziemlich unpraktisch, dafür noch einen zusätzlichen Repeater aufstellen zu müssen. Wenn das Gerät eine integrierte Antenne und eine modernere Software hätte, wäre es meiner Meinung nach ein wirklich nützliches Produkt.

Malgré sa vitesse de transfert max de 100Mbits/s, c'est un excellent petit appareil qui permet de transformer un bloc mémoire en NAS. À condition qu'on n'ai pas prévu de connecter un disque dur HDD sur la prise USB, car au démarrage, le moteur du disque dur consomme tellement de courant qu'il n'y a plus assez de puissance pour qu'il puisse poursuivre son propre démarrage normal. On entend qu'il tente un démarrage, puis s'arrête, puis redémarre etc. Donc, le produit est inutilisable avec un HDD. Par contre, avec une clef USB, pas de problème. Peut-être qu'avec un disque dur de type SSD (pas de moteur à démarrer, comme pour une clef USB), ça peut (ça devrait ?) fonctionner. J'achète de ce pas un SSD de 2To pour faire le test. Je reviendrai sur mon commentaire quand j'aurai la réponse à la question.
