You no longer need a cloudlifter!
After the launch of SM7dB and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th gen with 69db of clearn preamp gain, I decided to go with the much cheaper SM7B because the preamp gain of 2i2 4th gen is more than enough to power the SM7B! Audio output has a bit of noise at 85% gain, but that must be because my room is untreated. I am easily able to remove it in post with free Audacity, and the Air Presence mode of Scarlett 2i2 makes it much easier for me to make my voice sound more pronounced. A simple compression and bass treble boost makes the audio usable with great quality in a few clicks, thus saving my post processing time I was doing with some other mics I owned. Built like a tank, along with Shure SM7B showing up in so many successful podcasts/videos/music ensures the output is top notch and if the output is still bad, it's either a problem with your voice or you need to learn to fix it in post. Would highly recommend going with this one, if you have the budget. Will also be getting a fethead instead of a cloudlifter to go with this one. Think of it this way - How valuable is your time? How many hours of post processing do you do per week? If it's 10 hours even per month and every hour is worth a 1000 rupee, then you will break even in just 3 months along with a better audio quality right out of the box. I am planning to get a fethead for the same reason, will update here if it helps me save even more time (with the noise removal and compression)

Very versatile microphone for podcast and vocals.
This microphone has a very good frequency range, the low end is very pronounced which makes it perfect for podcast. You can also record vocals with this microphone and after a little bit of EQ, it sounds fantastic. However it is an extremely quiet microphone, so you would need to buy a cloudlifter in order to get a usable signal. You can also use it without a cloudlifter, but I won't recommend it because you would need to crank your gain knob to over 90 percent. If you are a beginner, I would suggest you to look somewhere else, but if you want a microphone that can last you for a lifetime. You can't go wrong with the SM7B.

The All-in-one microphone for home studio.
It's an absolute pleasure to have this mic onboard. Came with all the mentioned accessories , although i did noticed the seal was open but that can be ingnored since it worked like a charm straight out of the box. The build is rugged and feels heavyduty. Almost every component is metal. The sound is pretty much flat. There was a subtle amount of low end. It sounded great on my voice. Acoustic guitar sounded good although i think processing is required . And most importantly the noise rejection, works wonder. The ambient noise bleed was minimum. Note that i'm using this with Audient id14 and there wasnt much of a white noise at max gain. The signal was clean enough. But i had to keep the mic pretty close to the sound source. Not a big issue though. This microphone "Shure" ly lives upto it's name - "Legendary".

Best dynamic mic I have ever used
I like the voice quality and noise cancellation of this mic. It is an overkill for my usage which are mostly zoom meetings throughout the day but this definitely levels up sound quality several notch for my daily meetings. Be sure to use it with cloudlifter and this is the best as it gets

Great…. BUT!
One of the greatest mic but after spending so much. You still have to add in a cloudlifter and a decent preamp to make it professional. So do consider those costs before buying!

As shown in the picture i received this today and it is a genuine sm7b. Checked the inside and it all matches. Excellent upgrade from at2020 in my opinion. It was shipped and delivered within 24h (instead of 2 working days) to NL.

I moved to the Shure SM7B after struggling with a Sennheiser e865 condenser. While the e865 is a fantastic stage mic, it highlighted the wrong frequencies in my voice (Tenor/Baritone range). The SM7B finally gave me the "flat" response I needed without over-equalizing in post. From experience I would have been better to leave the equalizer flat and adjust it later instead of assuming it was going to behave like other microphones, it would have saved a lot of time. The Gain Challenge: I am running this into an M-Audio Air 192|4. Even with a +28dB inline signal booster, I still have to push the interface gain significantly. This mic is a notorious gain-hungry beast; if you don't have a clean preamp or a booster, you will struggle with the noise floor. Troubleshooting Interference: When I first set it up, I had nasty RF/Radio interference. The Culprit: A TRS (guitar/instrument) cable laying across the floor was acting as an antenna, and my inline booster was amplifying that noise. The Fix: Unplugged all unnecessary peripherals and isolated the mic line. The signal is now dead-silent. The "Room Killer": My room is acoustically treated, but even so, this mic is the ultimate "Reverb Killer." Its off-axis rejection is so strong that it ignores room reflections, giving you that intimate broadcast sound even if your space isn't a professional booth. Verdict: If you have a deep or complex voice and a noisy room, this is your workhorse. Just be prepared to audit your cables and your gain stages.
