Justice League:SE (DVD)Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.]]> Review: A movie about resurrection and hope - At its heart, this is a resurrection film. There is the obvious resurrection of Superman, which I'll admit is a little bit funky given the fact many of us just couldn't accept the fact the Man of Steel could actually be killed. But beyond that, this is a movie that tells us we are witnessing the resurrection of things that we thought were long dead: Truth, a sense of justice for all, old alliances, heroes who are willing to stand up not just to enemy bullets and artillery fire but also to public scorn for saying and doing what they believe to be the right thing. (In the real world, I'd cite the #MeToo movement as a good example of that along with the fact that many NFL players have chosen to voice a silent and respectful protest by kneeling during the National Anthem as a means of speaking out against the treatment of blacks in America by police.) Those specific issues are not addressed directly in the film, but any viewer sensitive to the realities of life in 21st Century America can see that they are being addressed, if only obliquely. The result: This is a movie that gives us hope. The whole concept of resurrection is, after all, the fervent expression of the hope that after we have passed through this mortal coil of fear and woe there is a brighter, better afterlife. I gave this movie 5 stars because of that even though I thought it was a little long and that some of the writing was not quite up to par. I gave it 5 stars because to harp on those things seemed - to me - a little like looking at the Mona Lisa and complaining that there was a missed brush stroke in the lower right hand corner. The CGI was excellent, at least to my old eyes, and the ensemble cast worked very well together. I was never a big Ben Affleck fan, for example, but I've been forced to reevaluate my feelings for his ability as an actor after seeing his performance as Bruce Wayne. I thought the direction was a little loose in some scenes, but again not so loose that it caused me any pain. In the end, it comes down to this: I enjoyed the performances, marveled at the CGI, and came away feeling that maybe - just maybe - there is hope for the future. And that sense that there could be hope for my son, his family and many, many future generations to come made this a 5-star film for me. Review: Good movie - This movie was great to watch. It has good picture and great quality.

Movie DVD is missing, only bonus DVD was inside! But Amazon fixed it!
DVD arrived on time in a box with other stuff we ordered. The DVD case was inside plastic shrink wrap. The case looked a little worn. When I opened the case to my great disappointment the main DVD with the feature movie was not there. The second DVD of bonus material was the only one included. I think this error may have been from the original supplier since there was sealed shrink wrap over the case. I only lost about $7 but I am still very disappointed and will hesitate to repeat this experience. My family was excited to watch this tonight and it’s a real letdown to open a package without a movie. Addition: I let Amazon know and they 100% fixed the problem, they paid for me to ship back the defective item and completely replaced it with a new DVD. Apart from the inconvenience, (so 4 stars) everything is fine!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I've read some 'not so good' reviews on here about this movie. But as for me, as a fan of the old Super Friends cartoons from the 70's / 80's and later the Justice League of America cartoons, followed by all the tv shows and movies that have been made with all these super heroes over the decades, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I like that they have used the same actors since Man of Steel, through Batman vs. Superman and into this movie. I think the actors they have chosen to portray our favorite heroes are just perfect for their roles. Henry is obviously the best Superman we've had to date. I like him even better than Christopher Reeve. I have to admit, I was never a fan of Ben Affleck. When I heard he was playing Batman, I wasn't pleased. But I was pleasantly surprised. I think he nailed the role of both Batman and Bruce Wayne. And his Batman is tough. I like the way this Batman fights. And he kicked Superman's butt in Batman vs. Superman once Superman was brought down to a human level thanks to the kryptonite. Wonder Woman is awesome in this movie too. I like that they gave her more of a leadership role than she had in the cartoons. I do like this Aquaman better than the nerdy blonde cartoon version. Again, they picked the perfect actor for the role. At first, I thought the Flash was annoying. But he grew on me by the end of the movie and after watching it a few more times, I think they picked the right guy there as well. I was never a fan of the Cyborg. He just wasn't cool enough in my childhood. But now that we are in a far more technological world, I understand his powers now and again, the actor sold the hero to me. Cyborg was cool in this flick. Forget all the nit-picking and just sit back and relax and enjoy watching your favorite heroes come to life.

I watched this version after seeing the "Snyder Cut", and I actually enjoyed this version more. I think that's only because I watched the darker version first, and this lighter, more funnier version has different scenes, dialogue and a slightly different CGI-rendered Steppenwolf. I think it was lucky that I missed the original theatrical release and ensuing "release the Synder Cut" campaign hoopla, and got to watch both versions. Watching this version after the darker version was like revisiting a fantasy world and getting more out of it second time round. Since this was the Special Edition dvd, there were some very good bonus content about the film's 'making of' and the design of the costumes, and some on the VFX.

If you’re a fan you’ll find much to enjoy. I like the Zack Snyder cut better but if you’re a big DC fan there’s plenty to enjoy here as well even if it’s not perfect
