Think on These Things

A very straightforward and comprehensive book that embraces common sense. My wife and I read together each morning and have found it helpful on our path of spiritual awareness.

Reading Jiddu Khrisnamurti book is really difficult at first, you have to read all other books to understand what he is trying to say. And this book is one of the simple and straight to the point which cover the whole problem of existence, and the actions we can take.

A good book as expected.

J. Krishna answers the fundamental questions of human suffering. His language is clear and often very direct. One must read with an open mind and consider the author's background apart from all religious and social dogma as a valuable viewpoint not often heard.

This book is a collection of talks given by J. Krishnamurti to a group of school children and teachers. He talks about different things like Education, love, freedom, etc. Personally this was a life changing book for me. This was not another book which told you what to do, but tells you 'Just see yourself'. The first time I read this book, I found it too intellectual and I thought Krishnamurti was a very negetive guy. Sadly, at that time I was too caught up in my own beleif system and was not ready for reality. This book is not really a book. It is a mirror where you can see yourself. It makes you question everything including the way we look at life, the way we interact with people. Each talk is followed by a series of questions put forward by children like "Why do we feel shy?" , "What is jealousy?" etc. Krishnamurti's words are totally unbiased and honest. He is like a surgeon. A surgeon cuts throught the patient with a sharp knife! His objective is not to hurt the patient, but to remove the ulcer from him. His objective is to let us see ourself, and make us live a life in which their heart, mind and action are in harmony and not in conflict. The other book of krishnamurti that I would recommend is "The awakening of Intelligence". It covers everythign that this one doesn't and is meant for really serious people. You don't need any other book after that.

Krishnamurti takes everyday concepts and explores their deeper meanings, showing us how shallow and programmed that we actually think about things. The book is about the search for truth and it cannot be given to you by another human (politics, culture, religion, parents, etc). Everyone must have the courage and patience to make this journey on their own, not to follow someone else's truth. Everyone already comes equipped for this journey which is about being--not becoming. Everything we seek will automatically emerge when we are guided inwardly and find out what is real instead of what society tells us is real or right. This book will plunge you into introspective reflections of yourself and your relationship with the world which is mirror of what is going on inside of you. No mumbo-jumbo or mystical nonsense, just epiphanies that will shake your world.

Very different kind of guru.. as all ‘gurus’ should be. Reading this book made me think of my own life conditioning.

A friend hinted to me that this author was so equipped with knowledge that must be read, made me so curious I bought his book and started reading. So much of his ideal resonated in my mine, I couldn’t stop reading. It made me feel so complete that I had to suggest it to someone else my son. Now he’s so grateful he can’t put it down.

I think it's a great book and it is going to answer almost all the questions that we face in our day to day life but can't able to find answers. My favourite Chapter is Chapter - 6 ( Wholeness of life). I believe every teenager should read it who have a lot of questions in their mind regarding their surroundings , their past concepts . " Be a watchful and observe the things which is happening in our surroundings." For ex- watching the birds , watching the naked trees, etc. I thank myself for reading this book.

Krishnamurti nunca me decepciona. Lo leo siempre en inglés y merece la pena pues es fiel a los relatos del autor. No es un lenguaje de eruditos sino que aporta la sabiduría de un ser comprometido e instruido en la esencia de vivir. Pensado para educar a la sociedad en general, más aun para los jóvenes, Buen recordatoroa de nuestros condicionantes. Krishna es árido, seco, un poco agrio pero te sacude y eso es todo un arte.

I have a few books by Krishnamurti and this is the easiest one to read. It is K answering questions put to him by children but it is for all to listen to his answers. For anyone who wants to have a look at themselves this is the book to start with. Krishnamurti takes a while to get your head around but as time goes by it makes more sense and things become easier to understand. I know a guy who buys 12 of these every year just to give out to people who inquire into Krishnamurti. Hope you enjoy this great book

Ce livre apporte des reflections très intéressantes sur notre vie et l’impact de notre société sur celle-ci. L’auteur nous offre un grand nombre de solutions aux problèmes sociologiques actuels et si tout le monde les mettait en pratique en commençant par une réforme de notre système éducatif, il y aura à nouveau de l’espoir pour l’humanité. ce livre est une collection de questions-réponses et se lit facilement.
